    hi!

Please can you explain why I have to create an advert when I sign up to Adwords. I thought it was merely service why I could create pay per click listings with a specific keyword like yahoo's overture?

    King Regards

You're a useless customer to them if you don't have any ads, that's why.

Just make one and pause it right away if you want to look around first.

but I thought, the point of adwords was to link a keyword to the link for my website?

You need to create at least one ad in AdWords and Overture that is triggered by the keyword(s) that you want.

Just follow the AdWords wizard and you will see how it works.

Yes. It's advertising, not link building. Do you actually know what AdWords is?

Yeah I get it now. This is what I think it does. It allows website owners to attract traffic via keywords that they can select and when someone enters the keyword, depending on how much the advertiser pays per click , his advert for his site gets ranked on the sponsored links area.

Is there anyway, that I can get an account just so I can see how much certain keywords are and how many users use specific keywords before I actually post my ad.

    Kind Regards

Yes, that's indeed how it works.

You can sign up, create an ad and disable it right away. Then you'll still have full functionality. They'll bug you by e-mail but they can't make you spend.

    great!

Also, do you think it is possible to set up a page that can attract traffic with a cheap keyword and then via adsense to make a profit?

    thanks for the reply

Search for AdSense or AdWords Arbitrage. It's frowned upon by Google and it's a real sensitive balancing act best to be avoided if you don't have serioeus budget.

If you want to make profits on redirect you need high paying keywords. Buy those keywords on cheap PPC engines then run AdSense on a CONTENT-RICH site. I used to do this but the keywords I targetted are no longer profitable.
