There still will be paid inclusion but you will have to go through Bing's or "MSAC" to have your paid search included. Without some sort of paid search yahoo will go belly up... I almost can guarantee it.
But what is the use case for charging for directory inclusion? People search google. people search yahoo. people dont remember 'I have to search in yahoo directory first'. Yahoo directory is just another search result in their eyes.
I don't think so yahoo will close this deal. because they are earn a lot of money through their directories. It may be a rumor.
hhmm..yahoo is getting down and down now. Though Google is the best, I'd still want to see some competition, since it's only in competition that one will try hard to stand out and bested others out. ;p
I doubt this will affect their directory business, although some play with Microsoft's local search initatives may eventually take shape.
Yahoo can't close its directory any time soon - there'd be a lot of angry advertisers who'd paid for inclusion!
Well, is that so? They're not in a huge loss. The last I read, they pulled in over $500 million in revenue. Don't post, when you have no idea what you're talking about.
they might be making less revenue than before, but yahoo is def a profitable company........yahoo is the first one to be on the global type web, then it will be the last. i think as well
