Try the openSEF mod for Joomla. While they say it is still in development, I have had zero problems with it.

I wouldn't suggest using fantastico to install anything for you lol, but that's just me. I myself like phpbb because I use a forum anyway, I just cutom build my portal around it, but it really isnt as good as joomla, either way you shouldn't use fantastico lol

For some reason I never liked Joomla. I never felt like there was enough customization, and all of the sites started looking too much the same. The biggest problem with cmsms is that there's no integrated blogging (at least based on what I need... and I think they may have recently finished a mod for this), but the best thing is that you can integrate any html template you download or buy into the cms pretty effortlessly... you just enter some tags where you want the content to appear... that's the main reason I love it. I don't need to look for special templates or designers with specific cms experience.

Just edit the template, it'll be close to the close body tag.

Removed the line, actually had to edit the includes/footer.php file.

How can i integrate a forum into joomla such that when a user registers on Joomla portal he automatically gets the same id for forum and when he/she clicks on forum link from homepage he is automatically signed in forum

It depends which forum you want to integrate, Simpleboard is automatically integrated, but there are also VB and PHPBB bridges available

    Thank you.
