I have a domain which has a PR of 2. It was some kind of a blog. Lost the interest in that topic. Should i make it a web-directory site?

What do you expect from a web directory?

Sure, make it another useless directory that earns $0.

Sounds like a great business move to me.

Because you are going about it the wrong way. To make a directory you need to decide on the niche, then buy a suitable domain (not dropped), then create unique categories, then populate the categories yourself, then buy a nice skin, then promote it.

You should create a directory because you want to create a directory,
not just because you have a PR2 domain.

    now, re-read what syted wrote...

and if you still don't get it, then read this...
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=701452

it was stickied for a reason, yet it is ignored every freaking day.

Edit: PR is earned, not bought

So how much money are you willing to spend at a bogus PR2 directory?

I'm not sure how successful of a directory you're hoping to have if all you're going to offer anyone is a PR2 domain.

If you lost interest in a blog, it's very possible that you'll lose interest in the directory depending on what you're trying to accomplish by creating a directory.

What will the purpose of your directory be? To sell links designed to manipulate search engine rankings? To offer content that would be of use to an actual visitor?

How will you measure the success of your directory? By the number of links you can sell? The usefulness of its content? The number of submissions you receive?

Without knowing what your goals are it's hard to say. Best of luck with what ever you decide to do with the domain.

I would have either sold the domain or turned into something the same as before, my friend bought a domain with PR then turned it into a directory, he got bored of the work he had to put into it then sold it.

if you want to do something with the domain, try making a site on the niche that your some kind of a blog originally was...Forget creating a directory and the read the Sticky ;) If you come across others (I'm positive you'll!) with similar intentions or ideas like yours, please share this advice. I have a question for you though: why do you want to create a directory? I am intrigued:)
