Are you promoting Public Records, Reverse Phone Lookups, People Search, Gov Records?

Ok - I'm going to give away a secret in this niche. Hopefully not too many people will act on it. But there are literally millions of longtail keywords for this niche (or maybe I should say long tail keynumbers). That's how some of these sites are raking in the money. Put any phone number into google, and check out the sites that come up in natural search. I'll be willing to bet that most of the first page will be filled w/ sites that promote clickbank reverse phone products.

Look at that, this forum is at the top of that search in google in hours, just by posting a phone number in the link. - That's a potential gold mine right there.

As for the "phone number thing"....this is excellent, but it would require some script and generating thousands of pages with nrs from all over the USA...

Yep, those sites/services are all usa only, thats why i made a new campaign only targeting usa.

Still..i do NOT think adwords is the best place for this stuff.

 

Do good with these type of reference sites in organic searches but the cost per conversion in PPC was always too much for me.

If you look at the attrition of the ads as well on Google search via Spyfu or another keyword spy tool you can see a lot of people just get their budgets stomped on in no time and can't stay in this niche via adwords more than a few days.

Lots of longtails in this niche though...

 

search volume is there...the nr. of searches and clicks proves it. Thats perfect for organic traffic, so write some articles and make squidoo lenses.

I made some sales, allright. But all of them are only $5.77...BARELY making even w/ PPC.
This probably for people who want a certain phone number. Still getting LOTS, LOTS of clicks on adwords for this. Unbelievable.

 

how can you tell which numbers have the most searches?

 

I want to know this info also, is it possible to plug into a similar DB to get the details they provide?

btw.. I think if you are doing this in PPC only long tail will be profitable, just look at the search volume.

 

I figured I would get this thread going again, because I think this is an interesting niche. I have had some success in the niche, but not a ton. However, I think if you work hard and attack it from a variety of different angles with different keywords then you could turn it into a $1,000 or more per month niche.

 

When this thread first started, I put together reversephoneagent.com w/ a database of nothing but phone numbers. It imediately made $1200 the first month and was ramping upward. I sold the website 6 weeks after I created it for $10K - not a bad turn-around.

 

Very nice... how did you go about getting a database of phone numbers? Did you just use reverse cell phone detective or one of the other databases and set up your own domain name or something? That is very interesting and great job!

 

To be honest, I just scraped it from another site. Since it's just phone-numbers, you can't have a copyright on it.

 

That is a pretty good idea, I have a reverse phone site doing a few hundred $$$ a month, I may think about selling it for a nice payday if I can get the monthly earnings up just a bit.

 

You can get that information at 'this website' http;//reversecellphonedirectory.net/ . If you need to find out the TRUTH about anyone, you still don't need to spend 100 bucks. It provides free information such as carrier, location (city and state) and phone type (cell phone or home phone).

 

Yep, there's a ton of money in those niches.
