Dear friends, what do you think about the directory submission especially in a zero ranking directory?
Even PR 0 directory may become high PR website in a few months. But if you submit your website now when the directory is new, your site will be more likely accepted. Many directories close free submissions and accept only paid links when they gain decent pagerank.
With that said, submission to a low PR directory isn't going to help or hurt you all that much. Relevance will count against you more than anything (e.g. submitting a site about pets to a Knitting directory). In general these directories are less important to the Google PR algorithm and are probably not worth your time.
Every directory with PR5 or more (the desired ones), once had a PR n/a. It's a gamble submitting to new directories but I will still say submitting to new directories without PR is good. It's better than submitting to DMOZ that will almost never approve your submission irrespective of how good your site or it's content is.
I agree with jitendraag bec new directory are all approved links anytime and PR is not essential all times. Directory submission is need for one way link when its live you are benefited.
Go ahead and submit it! if your site is good, it wont be penalized by google. Pr is a matter of number which is updated by google seasonally.
PR0 dir will not be PR0 always (given that google continues to update the toolbar PR). if it is a good clean directory, then submitting will not hurt. you never know which one will turn into a giant directory in the long run
While I agree that submitting to a PR 0 is not a bad thing, it is a matter of time well spent. My directory submissions are many but I saw a dramatic reduction in the value the big kahuna, Google gave to directories in dropping their PR. This was in fact a while back and I don't really think submitting to a directory does much unless it is in your niche and they don't simply turn into a "link farm" of sorts with so many outbound links and many inner pages never ever get any PR at all. I think there are better ways to spend your time, blog commenting, forum signatures, article submission.....................hope it helps!
