    Hi,
I bought my first laptop yesterday and am having some issues with it.

First, When I run it from the sockets everything looks good but when I switch to the batteries the laptop goes into power saving mode and reduces brightness and stuff.......
Any way to get it to not do that? I can't find any such option anywhere. It's a HP MINI with Windows XP if that helps.

Second:I have a Mobile Intel® 945GMS Express Chipset Is it good enough? :)

    Thanks,
    Helv :)

Yup its a netbook, I saw all the power saving settings I could find but I don't see anything related to brightness/backlighting.
All it has is auto-off Display/hibernae/standby/switch off HardDrive type things.....

As far as i read and google this stuff for you... i got the answer that this is the default feature of HPmini to save power consumption.

Will suggest you to call HP customer care.

    Hope it helps...

switch off the direct power and while your laptop is running on battery power adjust the brightness and LCD turn on/off settings. If you make settings on AC power these are for AC power usage only.. and these settings will simply disappear in battery usage.
