List of the Best Places to Buy and Sell a Website

    Hi,

As far as I can see the best think to do if your buying and selling a website is to list it in as many places as possible - provided they are free you have nothing to loose and everything to gain, so I think it would be useful to come up with an exhaustive list for potential sellers. I will start the ball rolling if people want to add places they recommend:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com - Free
    http://www.flippa.com - $19 listing fee + 5%
    http://www.talkfreelance.com - Free
    http://www.webmaster-talk.com - Free

    Please add to the list.

I've always used the Sitepoint Marketplace (which is now Flippa) to sell my websites. The community there tend to value more such as the potential, goodwill etc. opposed to just revenue and traffic. I've never used it, but I think eBay could be alright if you have a good sales pitch. You always see those crappy Adsense sites that are made in like 2 seconds purchased every now and again - you never know.

If you have a site which worth more than $1000 then flippa is the best place , for low priced sites DP is the best place . This is what I have experienced !

Flippa is by far the best. It is not expensive if your website is valuable. I sold a website in august on Flippa for $12,000 and it only cost me $50 to post it plus $250 in my 5% fees. So $300 turned into $12,000.

The best place to buy and sell websites is webmaster forums. You can use the BST section of webmaster forums to buy or sell websites. You have to choose one among the best webmaster forums before you plan to buy or sell any website. The first thing to take into consideration is whether the forum is large enough and if it has got potential buyers. The webmaster forums which have a lot of members will have some potential buyers too.You need find out a list of such forums and do a research on which is the best forum for you to buy and sell websites. One such forum which I have came across is the Experienced People Forum. In that forum you can find a lot of experienced webmasters who would be really interested in buying and selling websites. It is one of the busy marketplace with a lot of new websites posted daily for sales. You can also buy the best websites from there.

All the main places for selling sites have been listed here for many years complete with a description of each venue, what type of sites sell best there... and even information on where you can sell sites that aren't allowed in places like Flippa etc.

I'm trying out flippa now, just selling off old sites to build rep up so that I can sell my good sites easier on there later....

It's also a good place to get business ideas as you can see how much people buy other sites for ;)
