    Pete,

I think that it's fantastic that you're willing to disclose everything in these last few months. It's rare that you see someone like you on DP. Major rep for you.

I don't understand why you are promoting CB products in your sig in an IM forum going directly to an affiliate page and one which has a copyright of 2008

You actually had a decent link title too.

How can you read this thread and not follow the advice?

Good Job Pete, I've been following this since day 1. I remember when you were making hundreds.

I'm really happy you're making big money now, I hope to make as much money as you one day. Congrats. Lots of hard work pays off!

@everyone Thanks for your support I am putting the finishing touches on the plan and I have 2 niches selected already currently doing the research for them at the moment. 4 niches to go and then I can plan the squeeze pages and landing pages for them. I will update you more aling the way. this is due to start on November 1. Day 1 I am hoping to submit 100 articles then submite between 20 - 30 a day thereafter which should give a total of between 1300 - 1900 articles spread over 6 to 8 niches.

It is going to be a huge effort but I think this is going to pay off 10 fold. I will release all niches, landing pages, article pen names etc on November 1 to enable you to follow along watch the article listings and you should get an overall view of how to do this. If I can I will post the other links that I am getting to the articles and landing pages but that might be a bit oo much work. I will have to see how it goes.

I am also putting the finishing touches on the contest that will allow 1 of you to win half of these websites. Which will give you an instant monthly income. Stay tuned for that.

Until the next time thanks for following if you have any questions let me know.

    Thanks

    Pete

    @petehols

I've been thinking more and more on how to expand my promotional methods and was wondering if you've attempted to make use of Twitter through your endeavors?

It seems like, if done properly and carefully, that it could prove to be a valuable advertising option.

I have a few other ideas for promoting as well that I haven't read anything about here on DP or even Niche Choppers, which baffles me, but I'll not expose those yet. I may test them myself to see if they prove to be of substance. But I would like to know if you've had any experience using Twitter.

    Thanks,

    Bradley

Pete just wanted you to know that I check up on this thread daily, the more I read either from you or from anyone else and the questions which are submitted is definitely helping me gauge where I should spend my time. I also wanted to thank you for your idea of a contest, I cannot quite understand how that works yet but I would love to join it.

Overall, I definitely hope that you are going to hit your goal and hope that this new plan that you are refining will get you well above it.

    Will be continuing to read!

Okay, so I have been doing Pete's method for a full week, and here is my current situation:

I only have a good 4 hours a day to be working on this. I have a day job and a fiance to spend time with. I manage to write 3 articles a day. So out of the 4 hours I have to work with: 1 is spend writing 3 articles, and the rest is spent submitting to the other directories and ping/bookmarking all the directories. It's the ping/bookmarking that takes the longest time though. I'm using onlywire and still this takes more time than anything else.

I am only trying to sell 1 product as of now. It's in the only niche that I feel comfortable writing about again and again, as of now. The only directories I'm submitting right now are articlebase, go articles, squidoo, and hubpages. Both article dashboard and search warp have not approved my membership after a week. Does it usually take this long??

I have a landing page, although it uses a soft-sell of sorts. I'm not sure how to do a hard sell. I just can't say,"Buy now or else.." as the publisher's landing page shows no "...or else"..the publisher's landing page isn't a very hard sell either.

The majority of my articles(I have about 20 of them now) rank within the first 3 pages of google when I search for their keywords, only 1 on the first page, and a few are nowhere to be seen. All articles show only 1 or 2 views each. And these may just be me doing link checking.

Needless to say, I have made no sales, and my clickbank shows barely any hops.

My number one question at this point is: What is the point of pinging and bookmarking the duplicate articles sent to the other directories? If these other directories are used just for link love, then why should I care if they rank well on google???

My number two question is should I spend a day or 2 not submitting more articles, just try to get backlinks for the articles already published, through forums, blogs, yahoo answers, etc? Should I try to seo the existing articles before publishing more?

Also, should I focus on keywords that people would be using if they wanted to buy a product in this niche, or should I focus on keywords that people would use if they were searching for a particular problem they had but didn't know a solution(my product) existed for? These keywords have a high search volume with lowish competition. Or should I focus on a mix of each? The thing is, this niche has several sub-niches. In other words, the product treats a major "problem", but this problem has several "problems" associated with it that the average person may not realize have a connection to the bigger problem, unless they read my articles. My thinking was to let the reader stumble onto my article while trying to research one of the "offshoot problems", and then I lead into the "bigger/main problem" and then to the product. Or is this thinking going to get me anywhere?

Thank you to anyone who reads this novel. :D

My initial thoughts are never to submit the same article. As Pete described he changes around the first few paragraphs and the title to make it slightly unique. You need to make each article unique in some way to get the best benefit.

Finally when using your social bookmarker, always change around the title, description and tags as social bookmarking can also get a duplicate content penalty.

If your going to all that effort then doing a few things right will bring you far more results then you expected. Always be aware the duplicate content demon - it eats everything up!

Well, I haven't gotten penalized yet that I know of..but then again it's only been a week. But then again 1/3 of my onlywire services get "failed", but it wouldn't be able to tell if there was duplicates within a blink of an eye like that, would it?? I assume they get "failed" for something entirely unrelated.

I don't understand why making all the duplicates unique would be of any benefit besides not getting potentially banned.

Pete said a page or 2 ago that he's never gotten banned for using duplicate content, it's just his preference to change it up.

Pete noted that he changes the first paragragh of his articles only when he submits them to buzzle.

One important aspect of doing this is testing the product to see how it converts ahead of time. This would give you an indication of what keywords convert, whether or not the product converts, and what sort of landing pages to use.

Pete has mentioned that he did some testing before he started so he probably had an idea that his products would convert. I think he also had a trial period of around 50 articles where he would dump the product if it wasn't converting well.

Well, out of the 20 something articles I've written, I have only a handful of pageviews TOTAL, almost 0 clickbank hops, none in the last 4 days...these articles are all "keywords that people would use if they were searching for a particular problem they had but didn't know a solution(my product) existed for". I haven't made any sales yet obviously.

The majority of my articles make it into the first 3 pages of google..so I think I may be using the wrong keywords.

I just don't know how to find "looking to buy" keywords yet..I put the word "buy" before a keyword and either competition skyrockets or search volume takes a nose dive. Usually it's the search volume.

So otherwise you can just submit the same article to the smaller directories without changing a thing?

Why change for buzzle? Is it because they have different guidelines, or is it because they are a higher pr/better ranking article directory than the smaller ones so you change them for that reason?

I'd love to get my hands on whatever automated article directory submitter that you've got working for you, Pete, it'd take ages to submit the same articles to 12 directories over and over again.
