Hi can any one answer me The bible read by Christians of today differs by many chapters and thousand of paragraphs from the original. Which one is the word of god and why does man edit it?
and then there is an another Question, is there any original Bible present, if yes who wrote that Bible
They take and compare the oldest manuscripts (letters, writings) that they find. Ever read about the dead sea scrolls? Here are some places to read up: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Biblic..._Bible/Origin_of_the_Bible/Bible_canonization http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_scrolls http://www.usc.edu/dept/LAS/wsrp/educational_site/dead_sea_scrolls/
The Question is still very simple Did Jesus (PBUH) wrote the Bible ? i am just learning about Christianity so it would be nice if you tell me about old testament and new testament?
The torah was written in Hebrew . Unfortunately many christians altered the translation to make it mean what they want it to mean.
R u saying that Christians are following the religion which is not the Word of God, hence its the word of Human, and if he/they altered the Words of God, how can they be so pure and authentic.
I recommend this site for you to know the answers to your questions about the Bible. Ask him and the Bible will answer you. http://esoriano.wordpress.com/
Please give at least one example, it would be helpful if you could show what was changed. I guess we will wait and see if Cmike can show an example of something that was changed.
He is saying that all religions have books written by the hand of man, just like the Q'uran, most atheists point to this as if there could then be no "true religion" and that it was a means to control populations rather than to spread the word of God. Often other religions will point to this as meaning only "Their" book is the right one, guided by God. Many Christians believe that the council at Nicea was provided God's guidance in selecting those books which are holy, and those which were "corrupted"... Many Muslims believe that the men who wrote down the Prophet's words were guided by that same hand, but there is only one certain thing, that they were written down by the hand of man, who is prone to error and abuses of spirit.
But if you read the Muslim History you can find out that Prophet Muhammad dictate the Quran to His Followers and is revised by Prophet Muhammad through out his life. so it was compiled and memorized during his lifetime, and i think one should appreciate even non muslims that its the same as it was on the first day, no changes at all. i also admired the fact that its the only Book which is memorized by millions people word by word, no error it would be great if some muslims verify my findings
I'll be happy too. I had this discussion in another forum. In Isaiah 7:14 the passage reads. 14. Therefore, the Lord, of His own, shall give you a sign; behold, the young woman is with child, and she shall bear a son, and she shall call his name Immanuel. I had discussions where some christians changed the translation for young woman to mean "virgin," despite the same hebrew word referring to it as young woman in numerous passages. Another example is Isaiah 53, where the subject is clearly Israel, however, many christians insist it refers to jesus. http://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/15984 Nothing in the Torah (old testamant) refers to jesus.
That's not what I am saying. I am saying that there are very messed up translations from the original hebrew.
Interesting, where is Israel refered to in 53? I only see He and Israel is never refered to as He, only she. Both when G-d condemns or exalts Israel His chosen.
And if you read the history of the Hebrews you would be reading the Bible, which tells those who believe that the hand of God directed those who wrote it. You would think that people who believe in the Magic Man in one way or another would understand that the other group have the same types of safeguards written into their lore. Nobody can prove that what Mohammed said and what they wrote down is the same. It's like watching Mormons who believe that because people stand up in service and profess their belief in that Prophet it means that he really did read that scripture off of golden leaves hidden in a hat but who would insult you for believing that because these people say that was what was done according to what those who wrote it down say then it must be.
Actually, there is very little evidence of that. The Dead Sea Scrolls were translated into the NIV, which had no real variance other than a word or two from the King James version. (And this is from a disbeliever). The work remained very true throughout many translations.
