@Caprichoso You said Well, he was reported and he was banned. This contradicts your claim that nothing happens on reports. How Old? (LOL) Old enough to understand how people such as you think....or more to the point, DONT think. But age doesnt really matter......Im sure that you will mature eventually
This statement clearly show us how your brain works. If you want to know about your problem just read the "Weak induction" section -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inductive_reasoning
Not really. Look at the guy here that got banned for listing his site three times... three times! Now look at Skrenta with nearly 20,000 listings all to the SAME site. Yes, the rules only apply to some people.
Read the threads on here which explain more carfully, that whilst we look for sites with unique content, we don't have enough volunteer editors to list the whole of the internet. We consistently say that we are not a listing service and suggested sites are just that suggestions, some will be used quickly, some slowly and some rejected. But there is not telling how long any site will take to get listed from the suggestions pool, could be a few days or months or years. Editors choose where they work, they choose which resource to us (submissions is just one) and they choose how long they will work for. That's the nature of this directory, many wish it differently, but it is what it is. Incidentally presentation of a site plays no part in our decision to list or not neither does page rank. We use the sites which seem to us are the ones we need for people searching for sites in that category.
Like the rules for who can use our material without attribution, its those who ask and do things with the knowledge and consent of the directory. But you know Q, don't you think Skrenta slipped his sites in without anyone noticing.
Look for DMOZ work on free lance sites like ScriptLance... that may change your mind. MOST editors likely do not take money, but some certainly do. I suspect that the ones that would do such a thing would likely go around posting anonymously though, as to not arouse suspicion *snicker* Rhetorical?
Don't believe everything you hear. That is one of the most honest and well run free for all disorganizations on the planet. I'd be very surprised if even one of the 80k + editors was the slightest bit corruptible.
I don't think there are that much left (that number is so...so inflated). In my personal opinion there are more or less 5k but not to exceed 10k active.
I don't think dmoz editors take money in order to list site. If it's true then you don't see hundred of threads in web master forums about blaming that why his or her site is not yet approved? .SR
I am disappointed, you should know better. The real number of editors who can edit is about 200-300, the rest are just extras who can login and look at their useless categories, so it looks like DMOZ has many editors.
