You could build in some sort of cache function so you don't have to access the API for every thing.

The right place to look for developer APi documentation related to Yahoo is to go to developer.yahoo.com and then download the documentations and study the sample code.

If you have problems understanding the form, i don't think the Yahoo API is right foryou. You need to understand programming to use the API.

Start pinging Mybloglog.com then (it's a part of Yahoo like Feedburner is a part of Google).

If you use Wordpress for your blog you just need to edit the settings in the admin area under Writing.

You can call the Upcoming service gateway at http://upcoming.yahooapis.com/services/rest/[/url] with either HTTP GET or POST, along with your API Key, the method name, and
    any other arguments desired.
For example, here's a sample GET query (use with your API Key):
Important Note: Currently, the use of these APIs are restricted to non-commercial use only. If you'd like to use it for commercial purposes, please apply for commercial access.

To perform some operations using Yahoo! as your preferred search engine, you may be asked to enter a valid Yahoo API Key. Such a key is used to ensure safe queries and may be obtained free from Yahoo.

If it is the first time you are getting an API key from Yahoo!, here are the directions to follow:

    Visit Yahoo! Developer Network

Log in using an existing Yahoo! account or register a new one
When asked to select a radio button for "Authentication method", select "Generic, No user authentication required" and proceed further
Fill out required fields and click to continue
Finally, you will see an application ID which is your Yahoo API key
When you have your Yahoo! API key at hand, please open the application you want to use it for and go to “Preferences -> Search Engine API keys” to enter it.

At the lowest level, each Yahoo! Maps API works the same way. Using REST, you can plot points on a map with features like custom descriptions, URLs, labels, groups, icons and more. Your data inputs need to be formatted in Web-standard RSS format with either longitude/latitude or address information, as you like. All Yahoo! Maps APIs can take actual address information and process the geocoding for you
