    Hi

Last weeks we saw alot of changes in google :
    - Backlinks updates not followed by Pr update
    - PR removed from the tool bar of google.co.uk
    - PR removed from the google webmaster tools .
    - 6 months without any PR update .
    - Some google employees ask people to not focuse on PR ( which was for long time )

can this be the final of google PR ,?

If it is true ...alot of people will miss it - in reality - .... :p

    No, it is not true.
The PageRank update often occurs a few weeks after the backlink update. Around any PageRank update I can remember, some big sites have lost their 'Toolbar PageRank' for a couple of days (sometimes even weeks). Neither has it been 6 months. Google PageRank was updated around the web on the 23rd and 24th of June 2009 (do the math yourself).

Some google employees ask people to not focuse on PR
Yes, and what's strange about that?

    If it is true
    If what is true!?

This is definitly not true. The reason Google Employees tell you to focus on your content and not PR is they don't want you to get into the idea of using 'blackhat' methods of getting a high PR. If you focus on your content and post good content that sites would actually want to link to then PR will come with it automatically. If you focus on PR and not content your site will not have any reason for other sites to link to therefore you won't have a PR. So in short if you focus on content PR will come automatically however if you focus on PR and not anything else your site will be worthless.

Backlinks updates not followed by Pr update

BL are updated more often, than we see PR updates (exports to be precise)

PR removed from the tool bar of google.co.uk

    Weird, but no more.

PR removed from the google webmaster tools

Just refactoring + one more hint not to concentrate on PR

6 months without any PR update

Not true, last update was June 26. So it's only 3+ month w/o update, which is by now may be considered as normal.

Some google employees ask people to not focuse on PR

It's true, but it has nothing to do with public PR. Also, they are talking about it for a quite long period of time.

i don't think PR is dead, but maybe just change to another concept or direction from Google.

1st- In last 6 months there were 2 PR updates, last one end of June, where were you?
2nd- there are other PR tools in place, so if Google wants to give it up.. good luck. I personally would not have any reason to keep the toolbar if the green was gone.

They won't get rid of it. Although they are trying to improve the quality of websites by changing webmasters attentions from it to SERPs

Google update PR all the time... unfortunately, they haven't updated public PR for two and a half months now.
You have to remember that it should be quarterly but when Microsoft announced Bing they went to update it to get some hype from Bing... thus it's been only 2.5 months and it should be updated next month.
As someone mentioned it before, if google drop it somebody else will pick it up and create lots of buzz about it.

This is never gonna happen, PR is still a valuable tool for many different reasons. I think that google just wants webmasters to stop obsessing about it because it creates so much blog spam and essentially slows down the natural growth of the internet.

you see it all to often, a pr3 blog post with auto comments, with like 4000 comments. now that blog has been destroyed because of greedy people all focused on its PR.
