For your information, old wordpress version is under attack since last month.

So you should now upgrade to the latest.

hi i upgraded to wordpress 2.8.4 but its nearly the same error message. Fatal error: Cannot redeclare giodh() (previously declared in /home/iclsin/public_html/index.php(1) : eval()'d code:1) in /home/iclsin/public_html/wp-config.php(1) : eval()'d code on line 1.

    Hi!

I suggest that you take a backup of your MySql database and Wp-Content folder. Remove all the files and reinstall a fresh copy of latest version of wordpress 2.8.5. It should solve your problem. Make sure that you do not upgrade. You need to do completely new installation.

i tried changing the themes too.. also deleted the footer.php but still the problem was present... i think it was a hosting issue only..
