Exactly. There are many other things to focus on that are more important than PR.

I don't get why some put some much emphasis things such as PR and non-related things such as Alexa rank...

Ok, page rank does not matter for few of us :D, but seriously, at first glance , and if you had only 10 seconds to decide from which website you get the BL, one site with PR0 and the other with PR6, would it be so hard to chose?
On the other hand, without the green bar, you still would nee to use some kind of tool to compare.
So no matter if they disable it at some point, there will always be other PR tools like mozrank and others

The people who constantly bitch about PR doesn't matter seem to be the ones wanting it removed.
If it doesn't matter, then who cares if it's there or not?

Good point, i'd be interested to see who takes over the ranking game when this WOULD happen.

FOR SURE, SOMEONE will move in to that market. But: who? Mozrank is an option, any others?

Hey even i do feel that PR is not important but still its like a prestige issue to have a site with PR 5 or 6, it will be really boring to see all the sites with stupid PR0

If pagerank goes the way of the dodo that's going to make life very difficult for a lot of people on these forums. But on the flip side, it will cause people to focus on quality rather than PR when assessing the value of a site.

Barre Tire - exactly! Google wants webmasters to talk about it - they’re practically pouring fuel in to the fire
It's like TV commercials- only the controversial ones are remembered most.

Of course they are. My guess is that google forgot to update there own adwords account after the change was made. Or maybe the adsense team forgot to read that email LOL

Google can not remove the page rank indicator as a whole because it's a kind of medicine which keeps the webmasters always on their feet to make themselves much better.

Google might remove it from the toolbar but they will surely keep a check on it for their internal use.

I agree with teamnirvana, and also think that Google will never remove toolbar PR because it is part of the G brand these days. They can use it as a threat to help prevent link selling as well....

Mark my words....Toolbar page rank is going bye bye... I knew this a few months back... if you pay attention to Google employees and what they say or slip up and say you can figure alot of this stuff out...
