Ok before i get flammed, i know there is a safe search in google images , but sometimes i like to take it off to find more images. But have you ever noticed how much porn there is in google images? I can't even search for pics of hot chicks without getting slammed with pictures of gang bangs and horny teens.. not that i have a problem with naked chicks, but there is a time and place for everything! . I have kids that are learning how to use the internet now and this is not very good!.

Very true. Sometimes, I'll be searching for something really random and get slammed with some really messed up images, despite having safe search on.

I really wish that the .xxx TLD had worked out. Would've been so much easier to filter them out when you weren't looking for it AND so much easier to find it when you were.

Dude, you turn off the filter and complain that (essentially) there's no filter?

it's even dafter than that - he's turned off the filter, searched for 'hot chicks' and been surprised that there's nudity. What did he expect - photos of KFC?

I misread that as he had safe search turned on, so I retract my "very true."

But, I do still get some PG-13 imagery (understatement alert) when I have safe search turned on.

I think all the search engines might have the same issues but all of them do have some filters well-set. :)

unless theres a technology to scan an image and determine if it's porn, or an artisitic rendering, there's not much they can do.

As for porn, I think that false negative (actually not porn, but analyzer marks it as porn) is better, than false positive (actually porn, but analyzer marks it as friendly image). As for children, I suppose Internet for children should be limited to only certain websites. It's enough to learn the techonlogy, but not to see how dirty it is.

I really really support the .xxx to porn sites
Then we can clean easily the web, and just see porn if we WANT to see porn.

porn is funny :) don't blame it that much, many of us take advantages of it for "personal use". Anyway, I fully support the .xxx extension. Regarding the filter, I personally turned it off for long time ago, found it useless.

    I know, it's fantastic.

If you're turning off the filter to find more images, the only extra images you are going to find are ones that were filtered out for being explicit...so turn the filter back on.

You can search for almost anything and have porn results pop up. Even childish things like Cartoons, result in cartoon-porn.

Google tries its best to tackle itself from porn but it is unable to meet the growing demand for porn.

And more probably its not just googles fault its ours too, our request for such image forces google to meet our demand..
