http://www.examiner.com/x-14143-Ora...o-of-Anita-Dunn-preaching-Maoism-to-teenagers Why am I not surprised? Another Marxist from the Administration is exposed. Why is Obama appointing Marxists? What's that say about our president?
She's giving a lecture to high-school students, this was from June.. "the third lesson and tip actually come from two of my favorite political philosophers, Mao tse Tung and Mother Teresa, not often couples with each other (audience laughs).. but the two people that I turn to most.." "In 1947 when Mao tse Tung was being challenged within his own party on his plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-Shek and the nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army, they had the air force, they had everything on their side. And people said 'how can you win, how can you do this? against all of the odds against you' and Mao tse Tung said, 'you fight your war and I'll fight mine.'" There's more but that's the meat of it and i don't feel like typing the rest. I don't understand how this is any better than saying you look up to Hitler.. no, this is worse actually.
I didn't watch the whole thing.... tell me, does glenn beck pretend to cry at the end again or does he limit his feigned emotion to outrage this time?
LOL, actually when I was watching the show yesterday I was laughing at him the whole time. He paused like every other sentence like he was gonna break down and cry lmao. I don't understand why he needs to include that.
But still, this is ridiculous. I seriously wanna give Obama the benefit of the doubt now but it's hard to with the number of radicals surrounding him. He'll need to come out eventually and distance himself from it.
Yeah I'll watch the videos later. I could be wrong but it sounds like there's some important context missing. Like, what point did she go on to make? I mean fair enough if it's pretty obvious that she went on to illustrate how she'd like to follow Tung's philosophy to its murderous end, that's one thing.... But I find it painfully inadequate and purposefully ignorant of people to underestimate the lessons one can learn by studying one's enemies. Hitler was an asshole and a psychopath. But his ascension to power and the carrying out of his campaign up until the end when his lunacy caught up to him was brilliant. To deny that for no other purpose than to be able to say you're against everything Hitler is foolishness. It reminds me of a game of basketball I was playing a few weeks ago. The guy that was picking one of the teams decided not to pick this one guy who is known for dominating on the court simply because he is Muslim. His exact words were "Nah I ain't pickin no Talibans". They got crushed... A true student of history enjoys reading about and learning the philosophy of all characters, whether they be bad people or not. But again I could be wrong. If she went on to basically say "and I wanna be like that guy!" then I'll shut up
Yeah... that Obama is a real "Marxist." He's not even a liberal. (or at least he hasn't been governing like one, he's been governing like a left leaning moderate... although in any other western country he'd be considered a right leaning moderate.) haha! this stuff would be laughable if there weren't Americans who actually buy into it. OK, it's still laughable, but it's kind of scary too.
Basically saying that we all have a choice to make and we're all unique and we all need to make unpopular choices, etc Now I agree there, but the very lessons we should be learning from our enemies is how to spot and eliminate such crude and destructive tactics, not idolize them. There are some really evil yet effective philosophies. Being aware of them is great, but looking up to them is kind of alarming, especially considering these people are running our country. I could see if she was taking this one instance and saying that Mao was going to "fight his own fight", and not even consider all the other stuff he did. But to say that he's your favorite political philosopher and you turn to him most? WTF?! Imagine if someone said that they turned to Hitler most for answers to pressing political problems. Brilliant - yes. Good - hell no. There is no manipulative means that results in a good end for the people, unless you're the dictator. There are some ends that justify unethical means (arguable), but certainly not the means that freaking dictators used. These philosophies are suited for only one purpose, POWER. lol You're not even going to respond to Anita Dunn's marxist idol? Why did you even bother posting here? I would figure a bot like you would have something relevant to say.
No I'm not going to respond to that nonsense, it's nothing but more Glenn Beck witch hunting. I hope the Obama admin. has the sense not to give in to him this time. I have no problem with anything she said. It's ridiculous to twist what she said into some notion that she supports everything Mao did.
Nate: When I was in college one of my close friends was an avowed Maoist. Once he turned that political he was a Pain in the @ss. who wanted to deal with him. He was still a very nice person. He was also brilliant. Stuff happened in his life. He had many talents but 2 extraordinary ones. As a musician, and after attending a music school he won a job in a Midwestern symphony. I guess that means he was one of the best French Horn musicians in the US. He was also a talented innate economist understanding modeling and the real workings of demand and supply. He became a Wall Street expert on precious metals, often quoted in the Wall Street Journal. He died in the building 1 of the World Trade Center on 9/11. Don't give me cr@p about some studying or orientation a person has in their youth. What is the body of one's work. This woman is cited one time in one video quoting Mao and quoting Mother Theresa. I don't know, maybe there is something admirable in some of the stuff Mao said or did. Frankly I wouldn't know. OTH, there is much that is admirable about Mother Theresa. In fact her actions are far more admirable than those of virtually all of us. The insinuation of one's character based on some past experiences, youthful studies etc. is a lamebrained attack philosophy of extremists themselves. Look at the body of work in a person's life. As for my friend, you know I never spoke politics with him long after he changed. I have no idea what his perspective was. Ya know why? He was just a pain in the ass nutcase when he was young and politicized. Meanwhile, he was a great, kind, smart talented person: a husband and a father. What a horrid loss.
It remains to be her orientation, this isn't from her youth, this is what she believes in now. Cited as saying Mao was her favorite political philosopher that she turns to most, not a freak chance or slip of the tongue. Mao killed tens of millions of people. Well, that's not how I look at it. I'm not about to wait and see the type of change that's going to happen before it's too late to say, "actually that wasn't at all the type of change I or anyone else was thinking of". There is nothing admirable whatsoever about anyone who kills others in cold blood as dictators like Mao have done. There is absolutely no end that would ever justify that, ever. You damn well better raise eyebrows when some ultra-progressive starts saying she turns to dictators most. These aren't innocent little ideas, they've lead to the suffering and deaths of countless millions across the planet. The philosophies of Mao are based on power and control. You know how I know? Look at the body of his work.
Well with Glenn Beck demagoging everyone for every quote, we have now reached a dangerous point where extremists right wingers are going to condone anyone for reading or citing anyone. Watch out Americans. Right Wing extremists are watching your every step. OTOH: Right Wing Conservatives have cited communists quite "liberally" over many years:
Anita Dunn said that the Obama exercised absolute control over the media. Surprising? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/200...bama-team-controlled-media-coverage-campaign/ "The Obama campaign's press strategy leading up to his election last November focused on "making" the media cover what the campaign wanted and on exercising absolute "control" over coverage, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told an overseas crowd early this year. In a video of the event, Dunn is seen describing in detail the media strategy used by then-Sen. Barack Obama's highly disciplined presidential campaign. The video is footage from a Jan. 12 forum hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development in the Dominican Republic. "Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," Dunn said, admitting that the strategy "did not always make us popular in the press."
Freedom of the press belongs to those that own one. Always loved that quote. Not sure who came up with it first, but my Nigerian communications professor used to say it quite a bit.
I'm very pleased the Obama admin appears to be doing the right thing with the latest Glenn Beck witch hunt: IGNORING IT. Glenn Beck is not worthy of being listened to by any intelligent person, and certainly he's not worthy of being listened to by the President of the United States.
