It's now possible to change your username here. There are a few things to note... It costs $25 (this is mainly to prevent the majority of people doing it since it puts unwanted loads on the DB server, and I'd still rather people didn't do it). If you change your username, people will still know who you were. Your username history will show on your profile forever. People will STILL know if you changed your username without visiting your profile, because for the first 90 days of your username change, your username will show as italic. You may change your username no more than once every 90 days. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/payments.php
Username striked for 90 days is a great feature. Why can we see the username striked in that sample profile?
lol at the strike though the name. It kinda looks like you're banned. I saw you were testing it out before, was wondering what the heck was up. You banned yourself, hey?
I would like to see some examples of the strikethrough first. Any example? Let's wait I feel like ordering this. *still thinking of a new name* The 90 days thing is a good idea because it helps my client to recognise me.
It would be better if there is a one time change and a one time fee associated with it. Also, If i change it for once now to say "abc", then to "xyz" and then again to "pqr" and then subsequently i unsubscribe, what will be my username??? Will it be the present username, abc or pqr ???
is the username change permanent or only works for 90 days and then rolls back to the previous username? This might sound like a strange question, but it says 90 days near the username change, so this is weird.
Woohoo! Just paid for the username change and looks like it was changed already... have been waiting for this for over a year now. what's up with that cross line though, when will it disappear?
What the heck? Man I should read the terms before buying . That's totally unfair, people would think you're banned or something like that. I don't mind having a line displayed in my signature or profile with "formerly known as Michael_Goldman", but this is just really bad. Shawn, please reconsider this, or I'd rather have my previous username back then.
I admitted that's my fault in the previous post, but this is seriously wrong, no one is gonna buy it like that and no other forum does anything similar. Marking everyone who changes username as a spammer? You tell me how fair is that. So I'd like to either roll the change back to prev username or have that line removed today please.
In my opinion, an Italic username would probably look better then strike-through - it does look a little misleading. Or hey, even flashing! . Wouldn't that look nice and professional
I actually think the strike-thru draws more attention to your name, hence people will look at it, click on it, and possibly generate more business for you. People on this forum know that red means banned, except for the stupid ones. And who wants to do business with stupid people? *also keep in mind that you are paying for the time, effort, and resources to change the name, as it's a service being performed, not a feature.
