@brada7x That's a good attitude to have. I wasn't trying to kill your motivation, just telling it like it is. Making money online is very possible, but its no different to the offline world, it takes a lot of hardwork if you want to be successful. I very much doubt Pete was spending 4-6 hours per day when he first started his business, Pete correct me if I'm wrong. BTW, why don't you get a real job if you have a baby on the way? IM can be very hit and miss, especially if you are new to the game.

Yes I have. Both for personal use and for affiliate marketing. I like to check out a product before promoting it.

Believe me if I could, I would. I live in a small city in North Carolina. An area whether the economic depression has hit very hard. Unemployment rate here is higher than in %95 of the country and there are no jobs available. I've been looking diligently. I'm pursuing IM as a result of not being able to find a job in the real world. I know it's hit and miss but in all honesty if I can pull in $2000 a month, I can live without worry.

 

@dcristo & everyone I suppose that was a somewhat misleading answer. I do work 4-6 hours a day now. However when I started I wasn't, I would work whenever I could adding it up the first few months were long long days. I would probably say about 12 hour days. I suppose that was 12 hours infront of the pc. I am not including the other times I spent on the iphone. I have built this up to a stable state where I only need to work 4-6 hours a day in order to keep the stable income. This will be changing soon as my final 2 months are coming up very soon and my plan will probably require more time spent on this but I will report all that later if you all so require.

@brada7x I have every confidence that you will. If you think about it and break it down. If you want to make $2000 per month that is only $66.6666 per day so If you sell 2 products a day at $33 each then you will make $2000 per month. Aim for that 1 sale per day when you get that you then just step up a bit to 2 , 4, 8 sales a day. That is the way things work. If you have a plan that you can stick too then $60 per day is nothing when you think on the big picture.

Well, I shall make $2000 per month my minimum goal and work for even more. I'd love to make $200+ a day. I know it is possible. And I know it will take work. I'll say $2000 per month is my short term goal and $10,000 per month is my long term goal. That sounds like a plan to me.

 

Pete or anybody:
Has anyone had any trouble with articlebase deleting links after they get published? It's happened to me 3 times already...they are anchor type links and they are linked to other articlebase articles. I don't understand why this is happening, but it's very frustrating as now I have to wait an extra 24 hours per article to have them up and running...and I already have newer articles linking to them so at this point if anyone tried to click on a link to them, they'll probably get a "page not found".

 

@madlabs I have never came across this problem at all. However maybe it is something to do with linking from one articlesbase article to another. This is just a guess but it is the only thing I can think of.

Well I have a guess that it might have to do with the fact that for some reason when I copy the article over from my open office file, sometimes the "http:www.articlebase.com/" part of the url gets deleted...yet it works on articlebase's preview mode before I submit it. When I copy the article to other directories, I usually have to manually type in the missing url parts or it gets a "page not found"...weirdly enough, articlebase links are the only url's that don't seem to copy right from the open office document.

 

Hello Pete, whatabout your Google Trends project.. i havent seen that in your monthly earnings. Does this mean you dont use the google trends method anymore?

btw. a question about the google trends method: Do you need to setup your blog with UNIQUE content to get it in google quick?

If anyone else has an answer on that.. be my guest.

I actually just asked Pete about the Google Trends method the other day. He said that he doesn't use it anymore because it's simply too time consuming. As far as getting your blog ranked..you may be able to get it ranked with PLR content or something, but chances are it will get the Google "slap" and be de-ranked just as quick as it was ranked. Your best bet is, of course, to use original content. If you can't come up with it yourself, outsource it. Or you could just grab a few PLR articles and re-write them.

 

hi Pete - i too have been following your thread from the outset and you've been a great support to me ( a newbie) and to the rest of us newbies. So Well done for your achievement - you must be real proud - and so you should be!

Thanks to you -I have developed a system on excel and is working really well for me - it tells me what needs doing after I write the main article. I also put in 12 hours of work - so far no sales but I know- Im just laying down the foundations. ( I too like the rest of the world was laid off - so I have the time now- and I'm going to do my best at giving this a fair shot!)

I'm promoting two products (for now will start the 3rd next week), using 6 article directories and writing a blog for each article, using onlywire and pingler. Im not finding the time right now to do a squidoo page and a hub page for each article. ( Pete - did I get you right - you write a brand new squidoo and hub page for each article?)

I'm getting my speed up now on article writing - as I like to write good and useful content. I think this is where I need to improve on- the number of articles I write daily. I don't have enough stats to know which landing page works the best - personal or 3 type product review. I didn't find StatCounter was true in its figures, I don't know why - Go Daddy was showing me more visits. I also just installed Google Analytics and the stats seem to be better too! ArticlesDashboard & Go Articles seem to showcase my articles on the front page instead of ArticlesBase (the main directory) - which is strange since they're linking back to AB!!

The reason Im writing all this - is because you've given me a headstart and I just wanted to share that with you. Affiliate Marketing- takes a lot of effort, a lot of patience and a lot of discipline but if it works out ( like it does for you) - I think it's well worth it ! And I'm very excited as to what you are going to share next with all of us. Thank You!

 

Hi Everyone

OK here it is the main event. The countdown to December 31. This is a brief layout of my plans. I currently have a lot of articles that have been written and they are selling a lot of products on both Plimus and Clickbank. These will tick over and generate the same monthly income I have experienced for the last few months.

What I intend to do starting from November 1 is start all over again but this time there is only 60 days left to achieve the overall goal of $60,000. so far I have made just over $35,000 so in the next 2 months I need to generate a total of $25,000 from all my efforts to land this goal in time.

What is going to happen is this. I am going to pick 4 - 6 products, A couple of these have already been chosen. I am then going to write a minimum of 15 articles a day for all these products. I am going to outsource another 15 articles a day giving a total of 30 articles a day this should give a total of 1800 articles spread over all the products ending in 6 products with 300 articles each pointing towards them.

Now the landing pages will not be straight landing pages these I am changing again and I am going to be using squeeze pages. I am going to be capturing email addresses and sending them email courses for the indiviual products with the sales pitch hidden inside these emails till email 5 then it will be the hard sell.

Over and above the articles I will also be doing the usual forunm posting, blog posting, yahoo answers and deep linking of the articles to get the high on the search engines. Now I hear you saying that is exactly what I am doing just now apart from the landing page. The difference with this is I am going to give you FULL DISCLOSURE.

Right from the start you will know what products I am promoting, what domains I am using for the squeeze pages, what articles are written by me. As I do this you will know all usernames so you can follow along with the progress. What I want to achieve here is to show people that bum marketing can work, even using articlesbase as a main directory. I want to show you how to do everything step by step. Now I will only have 60 days left on this journal when I start this so. I am going to be posting stats, every 2 days from November 1 to keep everyone in the loop and so you know where to look to find out how things are going.

Now I know this would be great on its own. The Full disclosure bit. However there is more.

I am going to end this journal with a bang and come January 1, 2010 when the journal is over things will just be starting for somebody!

If at the end of this 60 days When I make the $25,000 I am going to do something nuts!

I am going to GIVE AWAY FREE half of this part of my business. So out of the 6 products I am promoting in the last 60 days someone will be walking away with 3 fully done squeeze pages with subscribers and all the accounts associated with those products!

So basically for 2 months I will build up these sites they will have over 300 articles pointing to them, links from forums, blogs and yahoo answers. You will know the stats of these before you get the site. So if 6 sites made me $25,000 then 3 of these sites will be worth roughly $6,000 per month to ONE LUCKY PERSON.

However there is a catch I will be tying this in with things. Obviously I am not going to give this to someone who does not want to work. I want to promote ambition, persistance , hard work and determination. This game is not about spoon feeding this is about you get out what you put in.

In the next few days I will clarify exactly what you need to do to qualify for the opportunity to win half of these sites. Remember this could mean instantly getting a wage of $6,000 per month.

I knbow this is nuts but it is the only thing I could think of that would be any sort of benefit to anyone. You will have a great resource that you can follow step by step via this forum and you also get the opportunity to win a business worth $6,000 per month fully up and running not much to do apart from tweak things.

Anyway better get going just now as there is a lot I need to take care of in the meantime and start setting things up.

I'm definitely going to be following along...especially paying attention to what you do with ArticlesBase...because with EZA.....well that's another story!

 

@ajbarnes thanks glad i could help you. Articlesbase is just another directory like EZA but you get auto approved so when you publish your article you can get it found a hell of a lot quicker than you would with EZA.

Hopefully you can take a lot more out of the last 2 months of this thread.
