Considering Adsense on My Forum, Advice?

I launched my forum just over 5 months ago (www.newmusictalk.com). I get consistent traffic anywhere of 20,000 to 30,000 pageviews and around 2,000 uniques. I was considering adding adsense to my forum and I am just looking for some advice from the community on:
    1. Ad placement on the page. What has worked best for you.
    2. Units per page. Is it worth doubling or even tripling up?
    3. Revenue expectations given my traffic.

    Thanks for the help.

your forum looks pretty good, the traffic you get is great so i think you should go ahead and add adsense
place the ads in the header and inside the 1st post or after the 1st post as you like

3 AdSense for content units (standard ad units)
    1 Link unit
    2 AdSense for search boxes
2 Referral buttons for EACH referral product

The header and after the first post those sound are good suggestion. Is it worth putting ads at the bottom of the page? I have heard from a lot of people that's pretty much ignored by users.

Go light with the ads if you want to make money. If you plan on using an existing account tons of impressions and little click through could pull your entire account earnings down.

Interesting tip. Why would earnings go down? Don't they only pay you per click?
