A lot of people bad mouth PayPal. But I've seen that most of the issues do get solved. Anyway, sending the money to a friends account and closing your account would have seemed very shady. You shouldn't have closed your account until the 48 hour mark. Anyway, just keep the emails as proof and try presenting them. Your friend should have the transaction ID's in his account. Try using that.

I think you are entering your bank details wrong,
the information should be correct about your bank.

Truly speaking that is very different case, never deal with this before. Also many people are ***ked by the Paypal. But what else we can do, no super alternative of paypal exists since

Paypal does not scam. They do freeze accounts which is ridiculous but they always give you the option to unfreeze. You should have just withdrawn by check.

This is not a good idea if you value your sanity. In my experience, PayPal customer support are second only to British Telecom in their insolence and ignorance - they are far overvalued on minimum wage.

Paypal's Policy on Closing An Account:

How do I close my PayPal account?

    Question :
    Answer :
Before you close your account, please keep these things in mind:

    * There are no maintenance fees to keep your account open.
    *
When you close your PayPal account, it can never be reopened and you lose all your account history.
    *
When you close your account, your incomplete and scheduled transactions are canceled.
    *
If there are limitations or unresolved issues with your account, it cannot be closed until these are resolved.
    *
You cannot have a positive balance when you close your account.

If you would still like to close your account, here’s how:
    ---

Seems like a couple issues could be going on here.

#1 Send the money and clear out your account, as it has been said
#2 Make sure there is a ZERO balance so there are no issues.

    Hope that helps.
