Submiting other sites (forums) to stumble/digg/google etc

How useful and helpful is it to submit a website (for example this website) forum posts to stumble/digg/google/delious etc to help boost your own rankings.

Say i write a post on this forum and submit this forums link to stumble, digg etc then the people / google bots will come to this site from digg and find a link going to my own site, as this site offers 'dofollow' links then will i get credit?

how good is this technique, if a post / article is good enough on a forum such as this your surley going to get additional visitors to your website, and you can always stumble/digg the original blog post...

Technically, yes you will get the SEO benefit if the links are dofollow. . . BUT. . .

I doubt the members of this forum (or any others) will take kindly to you spamming :)

The technique is sound, but be careful where you post the links. Heavily moderated sites like Digg will likely penalise you.

It'll help to some degree, but in order to get real benefits and to see, you'll have to submit the sites and submit it and submit.... lot's of work. but it'll certainly help...

I was only using this site as an example, the sites i would do it to would be niche forums

its not spamming.. i would write useful posts and just submit to digg/stumle etc benefiting both parties

Theoretically its sounds amazing but when you will go practical (try with any of your post) you will be amazed that it won't works the way you were thinking off.

is it called link wheel? and it still works.
This way you don't get lots of rubbish links to your site but spread them and then send good links to your site.
It's quite good idea but it's well spread and google knows about it.
    Secondly it's really time consuming.

well in my opinion there's a higher chance you'll get penalize by the site you post it.
