You want to read the blogs commenting policy.

I have to admit that everytime I post a comment, if I can take advantage of a solid backlink, 9/10 times, I'll use a keyword in the name field.

What you really have to worry about is leaving crappy comments like "Nice post" or "I just subscribed". That type of stuff will get you blacklisted with Askimet

You have missed the point of blog commenting all together. Contrary to popular opinion of course. You don't comment on a blog to drop a link. While ultimately the goal is to get backlink, the point behind speaking in someone else's house is to make a contribution.

    hope that makes sense ;)

we can use our keyword as our names. but what ever going to comment should be relevant to the topic.. do not use..nice post kind of stuff...if possible provide more refferences to support or object the topic that makes you genuine

Using a keyword as your name to get a backlink is not only spam, its completely asinine.

Forum sigs are not SEO either. Keyword rich or otherwise.

Amen my not so English speaking friend!

Forum sigs are very SEO. I don't know of any SEO company that wouldn't use forums as part of their linkbuilding plan. I was wondering why your signature is full of long-tailed anchor text with links back to your SEO company. You must have known that DP follows all of the sig links. Just sayin, if you're discrediting EVERY linkbuilding method other than emailing webmasters and directory submissions, you're giving bad SEO advice.

Nigel isn't using his forum signature to improve his rankings. He's using it to drive targeted traffic on this forum to his site so he can get more business.

    That's MARKETING, not optimization.

If I were you I will used my real name or the name you are using
in link building, that is much more formal and will let the webmaster
that you are not a spammer specially when you have a related
comment on their site. There is a provided url box there and I guess
that will be just fine for your site. :)

Get a life - anybody that has a popular blog knows that it will do both of you good to place anchor text & leave a comment - just so that your niche is same with your anchor & comment is original. You're blatantly stupid if you reject such a comment.

If you want to use blog commenting as a link building strategy then you really need to find do-follow blogs because an ordinary blog will only provide you with a real link if they use something like the Top Commenter plugin.

both things are flex here if you think of spamming, this is spamming also. because there you will get hundreds comments and if you think this is for back links only then that will good because somone will come through your comment on your website. and your website will get some traffics and visibility. Link building is different. What google see that is impossible to think. some body make one thousand content relevant high page rank links but Google counted only single back link only. why??? No body know but everyone will give answer you as a guess only, not sure.

He HAS a life, and he also understands that several sites have anti-keyword policies on their blogs because they're SICK and TIRED of all the SEO spam they get.
