    Hello Everyone,

Is there anyway I can change my password for my vbulletin forum without visiting the site? So through the server?

I have forgotten my password and cannot login, and when I try to reset it, it says I have tried accessing it through an unrecognized address?

I am the admin/owner of the forum, so need to be able to access it

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

Yes, you can change from phpmyadmin.

You can rectify this with a much easier method: using tools.php.
    • Register as a new user.
    • Upload tools.php to the admincp/ (is in the vb.zip do_not_upload/ folder)
    • Run 'reset admin access' on the new username.
    • Login to the admincp and find the old admin.
    • Set a new pass on him.
    • Log out and test the user/pass.
    • Logged in as the old admin, delete the newly created admin.
    • Remove tools.php from the server.

And btw, you can't change it via phpmyadmin because vBulletin doesn't store plain-text passwords, they are only password hashes with a unique salt per user.

I mean replace yourdomain.com/forum/ by your vBulleetin forum url and then try it.

Looks like your forum is hacked and your email address is changed.
Change your email via phpmyadmin and than use forgot password option.
