    Hi All,

I thought I would create this post to get an idea as to how religion affects you and your company in the workplace. I know that worldwide, some of the largest companies have a strong religious backbone.

I work at a company called The Fortune Group and we believe that true success comes through adherence to the principles set forth in the Bible, the Word of God.

Each week we post a letter - LETTERS FOR LIVING, it is one way by which we give expression to our love for God, our faith in Him, our conviction that His Word is truth, and that it is truly relevant to our lives in the Here and the Now.

So how does religion affect you and your company in the workplace?

I'll leave you with a verse from our latest letter - Discouragement Part II.

Genesis 15:5 (KJV) “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, ‘Look now toward heaven’...”

It has no effect. I do business, both personally and at my 'real' job with people of all religions. Sometimes I have 'clients' who ask to work with a professional of a particular religion. I tell them I have no idea what religion the professionals are since I don't care and never asked them.

I would avoid doing business with anybody who is trying to shove their personal beliefs at me, be they religious, political, or otherwise.

p.s. As an example, I have no problem eating at In N' Out Burger just because they cite bible quotes on the bottom of their drink cups. But if they shoved it in my face I would not longer go there.

p.s.s. Their burgers and fries are delicious!

Religion does not have any effect on my BUSINESS, religion is not a business. But religious people have made it that.

Im not saying that religion is a business at all, im saying the way we conduct ourselves in our personal workplace is effected by our beliefs. We dont try to sell or push any of our personal beliefs to our clients.

I hate it when Muslims infer that Muslims should only spend money on another Muslim.

Like, wtf? Non-believers don't need to feed their kids?

Religion shouldn't mix with business. It will bite you in the ass if you did.
