Affiliate Marketing, the best way to start in Internet Marketing as a newbie?

A lot of people think this is the easiest way to start in Internet Marketing. I came up with a list of pros and cons and was wondering what you all think:

    Pros:
    - Easy to start in
    - Don't need a website
    - Low start up cost (could be free actually)
    - Can use free traffic generation techniques
    - Great commissions
    - You don't need your own product

    Cons:
    - You need to learn more to become really successful
    - You probably need a website and autoresponder for long term profits
    - You only get part of the profits of the product you sell.

What do you all think. Is the really the best way to start out in the Internet Marketing world?

Yes that's it, in a nutshell.

I would like to stress though that to make any real money and to build a solid long term business you really do need your own web site. (I know you said this, I was just reiterating.)

    I totally agree.

Affiliate Marketing is a great tool to get someone started in Internet marketing
especially if you don't have a product of your own.

I agree with what you say.
morever, for newbie in the online business to follow the trend to be a good choice, because it can reduce the risk.
but for those who have advanced the web, it's worth buying an online business guide, and then run your own business

This is a very dangerous thing to get into. Sure there are people who make money from it but it's going to be extremely hard and most likely you are going to quit because you don't see conversions.

Just stick with it, it takes time nothing happens over night

    Avoid at all cost PPC.

    To answer a "Con"

Walmart doesn't earn every single cent of the product that they sell... In fact they only earn a few cents to a couple hundred dollars which is the same as affiliate marketing.

I started to work in internet marketing as the affiliate. When looking back I still believe it was the best possible idea to start with affiliate programs.

Yes, that's the best option to start with. Also we need to learn SEO and PPC, as those two are the best traffic generation methods.

To start with affiliate marketing is misunderstood by many new online marketers.
Finding your targeted niche is key to success. You have to check out following points before joining any merchant program.
    • Conversion rate
    • Average selling value
    • Type of Affiliate Program
    • Pay out history of Merchant
    • Affiliate Reviews and Testimonials
    • Commission structure
    • Tracking System

The above information is very basic to choose any affiliate program. I would like to suggest all newbies to check out "Hexpress Online Clinic Affiliate Program" to understand above mention points in depth.

If you need any more help please feel free to PM me

Have a Great time ahead, All the best !!!

Maybe you can easily start in,but it's not that easy for you to survive long since it's full of competition here.
So you need to build your own brand and advantage and provide outstanding service or other things. Then you
can always benefit much from your business.

The competition is getting worse all the time. Within a year or two it will be almost impossible to rank for small players. The bigger companies will dominate and we will suffer. Hopefully times are better then so we can find regular jobs again:)

Says the guy with the affiliate marketing link in his signature.

No., affiliate marketing is not the place for beginners. Affiliate marketing works best when you have a list. In order to have a list, you likely need your own product, or at least your own website selling other people's products.

IMO, there is nothing that can help you to understand and take advantage of affiliate offers more than first building your own successful website/product.
