    Yep

Very handy for when I visit clients, especially when they cannot access the web.

I use with mobile broadband so I can support anyone anywhere.

Try to get a decent CPU, RAM, HDD and depending on how mobile you want it an 8 or 10" screen.

Be aware some that some come with Linux and some with Windows

    Hi,
Well Netbooks have inbuilt GPS connectivity so you directly connect to net
They are just laptops with inbuild GPS connection and use's same RF as Mobile phone use

So in short GPS + Laptop = Netbook

One of my friend updated me as his boss is using it
    Too expensive to buy

    Hope it helps

    Hi There

Netbooks DO NOT come with GPS built in as standard. This is something you have to add to I'm sure, such as mobile broadband.

And they are NOT expensive - SUB £200 here in UK

Yes, all application will work, but mostly light weight applications, such as MS Word, Powerpoint, etc. Don't go playing games and all of that stuff, those netbooks are not build for that.

    Hi There

    Yes thats fine.

Of course applications work. If you look at the spec it comes with Windows XP SP3 so what usually works on XP will work on a Netbook.

Baring in mind that there is NO optical drive on netbooks ie CD / DVD drive so you have to load software via the web or USB drive. But that shouldn't be a problem.

I use the HP2133, i must say a very handy device for a student like myself.. i have even installed visual studios and do programming on it. As mentioned earlier try to get one with a desent CPU and upgrade the ram, Mines a 1.2ghz via C7 chip with 2gb ram and 4gb readboost runs all the stuff fine but does hand sometimes if i try to do to much at a time.. but then again not what they are designed for is it! :)

I've got a dell mini, and I've tried a few others.

The biggest limiting factor for me is the keyboard. Some netbooks, like the Dell, has a very annoying key configuration and overall a very small keyboard. I can't get used to the damn thing, unless I'm pecking at the keys with a few fingers.

If you do any kind of programming at all, I urge you to make sure you have a decent sized keyboard before you buy it or you'll drive yourself insane.

The best thing about netbooks? Battery life. I had to take a few longer plane rides, and my netbook lasted for the entire flights.

When OLED displays hit the mainstream consumer market in the next few years, the size, weight, and battery life will be improved even more. I think that's when the "netbook" form factor will finally push the bigger laptops out.

Instead of getting a NetBook which are damn right annoying to upgrade, get a MacBook which are just amazingly pleasant.

Heh. It's cheaper to buy three of four netbooks versus a Macbook.

True, it is, but I'd prefer a MacBook as they last longer. Well they seem to for me anyway.

I'm very mobile, what I need is small and lightweight laptop, so I bought MSI Wind U100 nine months ago and very satisfied with it. Beside do wordprocessing, spreadsheet, email and browsing, I still can use it for graphic editing with Photoshop Elements and the battery life is more than 5 hours.
