You could also create a myspace acount with a picture of a hot girl, and just watch the friend requests roll in.

Create profile that describe/offer incentives for other to become your friends - eg: free ebooks, etc. Soon or later, more people will join the wagon.

You're going about social media the wrong way. Sure, having that many friends will provide you with traffic, but will that traffic convert?

I'd rather have 100 friends on myspace who know what my company or website is about, as opposed to 100,000 friends who don't know anything about my company or website. If you "collect" a lot of friends, sure, that's a lot of traffic to your site, but it's also a high bounce rate.

Many companies fail at social media because they have the assumption that having thousands and thousands of friends will lead to sales or conversions. That's not true. It's all about creating a genuine relationship with the people.

There seems to be some sort of middle ground that people need to find. Like the fella above, 5k friends is "a lot" but having targeted traffic is what you want. Ideally you are looking for quality friends who will click your links. Look in MySpace groups and other social media groups for followers. If you have people who are likely to have similar interests to your site, or products, you should get a better result.

I think these friend adder programs could be greatly beneficial to my business. is there anyone out there that is an expert in all of the bot programs for such as auto poster for craigslist, friendadders for myspace, facebook and twitter, and view adder for youtube? I would be highly interested in contracting your skills to get my ad campaign up and running. Post or PM me if you or anyone you know has these abilities. thanks!

Not saying I'm for it but some people just throw alot of crap against a wall and some of it actually sticks. My concept is that if you don't have 100 friends you can personally contact and get them to follow you on a social media site you should probably work on your interpersonal skills. If you don't have 100 personal friends you are probably not going to get 5,000 strangers to follow you.

i'm agree with ROGERKLOTZ whatever this guys said it true words, yes this is not a genuine technic to grow your business. Think !! Maximum peoples are joining social networking website only to build a friendship and relationship, they really don't have time to do some business activities over there, only people like us who need traffic always, they use this source and expecting maximum visitor if you got visitors also, then they must be not interested that much because they are not there to buy anything or looking for business deals, they are there to only make new friends, they don't want to waste time on this, so you will not get real visitor who really wants to deal with you, that must be increase your hits but not useful, i think intent of this do something useful, there is nothing wrong if you get low visitor but if you are getting real useful visitor thats enough to grow your business !!

Get yourself on a TV show during prime time. Then put up your page. Everyone wants to be a celebrity pal right?

Actually, it is very difficult to find 200 friends on myspace who really know you, so it is advantageous to send invitation to all at random.
