Link Quantitiy vs Link Quality

Which is more important?


Can I just go out and get 1000 links no matter what type of website they are on? Or is 1 quality link better than 1000 crappy links?


Just wondering if GOOGLE penalizes you for crappy backlinks

 

google dont penalize you for crappy backlinks, but some crappy backlinks may not count towards your sites backlink, that is it
Of course one quality backlink from a high PR (PR 5 or higher) page directly related to your niche is worth more than 1000 crappy backlinks

I'll concur as well. Ideally you'll want a LOT of high quality relevant links, but if you have to sacrifice one, put the quantity on the altar.

I'm must favor on quantity of quality links.

 

One quality link could be worth 100 lesser quality links, but if you're unable to achieve this, go for quantity.

However, when aiming for quantity, keep the pace of your backlink building steady and avoid links that carry very little weight at all (forum sigs, poor quality directories, blogspam, social bookmarks).

 

There are advantages to large quantities of links such as using many different anchor texts and having lots of different domains pointing to your site (assuming you are not talking about sitewide) but I would still spend more of my time building higher quality links.

 

i definetly belive that quality is the one that will give you results .i had a website that has just one backlink,from a high respected website (PR8) and has had very good results in search engines

 

In my opinion, quality links are better than quality links. I like smart work.

 

Quality.. crappy backlinks do basically nothing..

 

What I do is never get links from PR 0, only ever for 1 or higher. I work it out by 2 links = 1 link in value to the PR above.

 

Although google will not do that,you'd better try to make a balance between them.From a long view,you'll benefit
much from it.

Dans saying that he would choose quality over quantity any day. Sacrifice(give up Quantity) I would agree BIGTIME!. Allways strive for the best possible situatiuon. If you settle for meadiocrity, You will undoutably end up with what you set out to get.A meadiocer site. Kinda like my spelling in this link!

 

I vote for quantity too.
'cos you never know, the crappy backlink now may turn to a much worthy PR5+ backlink an year later.

And in this year you can develop tons of such backlinks and even if 2% of those turn to quality, you end up with both quantity and quality.

quality always does matter for google back linking for Organic result but Quantitiy can give you traffic but it would be not related as you are looking for. Google penalize site only for porn site linking..
