My buddy and I were trying to find out what the longest airing television show was (or is). The Simpsons came up quite a bit.

22 years is quite a while eh? I'm sure there might be another.

    Star Trek maybe?

I'm sure Sesame Street is airing longer than The Simpsons.

The Simpsons rock! But lately the quality's been going down, but still, very enjoyable!

I totally forgot about The Street. I remember watching that as a kid at grandmas house.

Oh the good ol days! No expenses and no worries, just toys and fun.

I guess if it was the exact same as when it started it would not still be around

It has to evolve as the world and people change around it - it always been just a tongue in check, sarcastic reflection of humans and the crazy stuff they do woven into cast of misfits who refuse to age despite these changes in the world

I think its done really well for the charcters, funny plots and laughs to be still going on all after all that time

Long live The Simpsons - my life would have been much less enjoyable without them

Ya man, without a doubt The Simpsons is a classic that has lived through the ages. The only problem (which southpark states many times) with the simpsons is that they have been on so long that they seem to start running out of episode ideas :p.

    "Simpsons did it!"

The evolution is interesting. The 2009 version looks a bit like a mix of the earlier two versions.
