In my opinion is Joomla, others may say Drupal or Wordpress. I wouldn't bother looking outside any of those unless you go for a custom built solution.
I'll add MODx to the list. Very easy to customise if you know PHP. If you have a look on their forums you'll find a way to integrate SMF's member system into MODX's, though I haven't tried to do that yet.
I used E107 for a project a few years ago, it just felt a bit too 'clunky' has it moved on much since then?
I'll always love joomla, because you can modify it to the point that people won't realize it's Joomla!
none at all, haven't needed to I'm pretty sure there's a component that allows this though, but usually I just build a new module
I've downloaded a bot that is supposed to allow it, but I'm still running into problems. I guess I'll have to pay another visit to the Joomla forum
Thanks to all for replying. I installed Joomla via cPanel (Fantastico) and also experimented with some CMS i saw Mambo which is more or less similar to Joomla have they copied Joomla or is it the other way around?
I'd go for Joomla, a lot of the Mambo mods still work and the developer community seem to have made the switch so any future developments will be for Joomla
I agree, I've made the switch to Joomla as well, although for the time being most components and mods still work for both
