The best thing to do to promote a website is to provide good quality content on the site. Visitors and Search Engines love good content and in the end thats what keeps a customer at your page and brings in the cash. Hype advertising is bad. It makes a poor impression and is just a waste of time. Write articles instead. Let others know your experience and knowledge ot the website topic. Leave room for questions. Ask for your visitors opinions and feelings about a certain theme or product.. Provide working links and products that realy work. Thats probably the most importent task. You will have to produce ideas and tips that realy work out! You need to build a good reputation for your site. This is only possible when your site is "for real". Subscribe to Ezine Articles Directories and use Social Networks to spread the word. Visit forums and join the discussions. Internet marketing is not easy. It is hard work. If you do it right, it will pay. Good quality content and traffic to your site are the most important factors in your quest for internet marketing success. PR doesn't mean necessarily traffic. Now I never think in PR, I've even removed the google toolbar. Only traffic matters!
Do you really think so?Without good quality and high PR,the traffic will not stay forever.I mean you can get one time visit,but do not count on they will visit you again for you haven't got their interest.
I have a web with PR=0 that ranks good in Google (although the PR could be higher after next PR update). And I have other websites which have been downgraded from PR=4 to 3, and the traffic has remained the same. My theory, is that PR is just a small part of Google's algorithm to rank websites, that's why I don't pay too much attention to it. Good content and good links back helps you a lot in SE rankings, but that doesn't get necessarily reflected in the PR of your site.
unique content, is a first filter for google, it's like if u have duplicate content google might not list ur site for a keyword, so it's a first test of a site. then comes related content to any keyword u promote, so content and lots of it is very important and used as a base ground for any future promotion
