Lack of Sleep Could be Deadly!?

Sleep is regarded by some as unproductive, wasteful downtime. People who would rather hit the hay than the dance floor are told that only losers snooze and that they can sleep when they’re dead.

For many people, days just don’t seem long enough. In order to cram everything into one 24-hour period, something has to give. Judging by many surveys of Americans, it’s sleep.

As per SCIENCE NEWS, the new data about sleep’s benefits suggest that losing sleep might speed up death’s arrival. Recent research also shows that people who don’t snooze enough face a higher risk of losing their health than those who regularly get a good night’s sleep!

    What do you think folks?

I don't trust to these researches they never have a meaningful explanation just a theory. They follow the principle that if you search something you will surly find something and here it is a science research :) However i sleep 8 hours per day and guess it's enough

Enough sleep is required to keep you refreshed and rejuvenated. One is supposed to sleep 6-8 hours a day depending on the nature of work. Lack of sleep over a long period will take a heavy toll on on your health. Go and fall asleep, if haven't had it enough :D

I've gone many full nights without sleep. I think the most I've gone is 2 1/2 days. I was seeing more things than I ever had on mushrooms! You get higher off of sleep deprecation than anything else I've tried lol.

Lack of sleep is definitely not good for health in any way.

If you awake all night but sleep all day, it will not be same rest for your body. Night sleep is always good.

I enjoy my sleeps as they refresh me and if I don't sleep I feel it and others too!
Lack of sleep has a very adverse effect on life. I am sure about that!

If you dont sleep enough, your immune system goes down and your body loses its energy for the rest of the day. its easier for you to catch a cold or any other kind of virus.

    - Sound sleep is golden however long. Wonder what research is for oversleeping in the morning which I do not allow myself, a real phobia against it - out of bed no latter than 7:30AM no exception.....

You should sleep for 6-8 hours in 24 hours. It makes you work properly.

Getting good nights (see the word night) is ideal to make our body feel refreshed again to start all over again the next morning. working scattered shifts is not recommended for anyone as it is bad for sleep and health.

lol, I think you are exagerating a bit, but I know what you are saying. Sleep deprivation is definitely a big mindfuck.

I love my sleep, but only hit the sack when I'm exhausted.

You should spend your day in three thirds.

8 hours dedicated to your vocation/occupation/career/job
8 hours dedicated to your neighbor/country/family
8 hours dedicated to your health/sleep/hygiene/
