True, you cant make everyone happy. That's how it is! Since Shawn is actually looking at member's constructive suggestion, I would love to just chip in! Since the icons are not transparent, it looks slightly a bit choppy on a darker background and the thread title font color somewhat blends with the background image and might not be readable as easily as the general listings. Maybe something like this You may ignore font styling... Best Regards, MM
Yeah... the choppy graphics were bugging me a little bit too, but I decided to just wait for vBulletin 4.0 since it will be an entirely new set of graphics and don't feel like redoing them twice when vBulletin is close. As far as switching to a lighter gradient... it looks nice, but there's a fine line of it needing to look nice *and* stand out, so...
It's true though. Not saying people that don't get it *are* retarded, just that the people that do most likely aren't retarded.
Yeah, but it's nice to be able to see a list of Premium Members. It may be even safe to say that it's expected to get on the "leaders" page, considering just about every forum I've seen that has premium memberships offers that as one of the perks.
Sorry, not going to happen here. Might as well let people pay $500 to become a moderator too while we are at it.
heh, that kind of thing happens at other forums so it must happen here too (Assuming we go by Nick's theory that just about every forum should be the same). @NickR25: Once you pay $85,000+ for equipment to run the site, you'll be able to say what is and isn't professional.
If you look at the bottom of the index page, you can see a list of the premium members that are currently online.. They are mixed in with the other currently active users, but the bold type on the names really makes them stand out.
Mostly we look for people who recently signed up (they are generally "fresher" and not as tired out), someone that uses Buy/Sell/Trade a LOT (that way they can see spammers), and someone that expresses interest in being a moderator (we wouldn't want anyone to be a moderator that didn't actually WANT to be one). Someone with a low post count is ideal as well, that way they are more invisible to users.
Make good posts, report threads that are against the rules, and not asking to be a moderator. Also someone who is willing to be hated, work long hours, and are held responsible for banning people and not being able to feed their family.
About time us members started to contribute to this wonderful resource. On another forum I'm a premium member on the username for premium members is a different colour. Something that immediately distinguishes teh contributors would be very nice and encourage a lot of people to become Premium Members.
