What I mean is that with HostGator I had a number of people sign up on a month-to-month plan using a 1st month free coupon code. And then they never renewed and paid the next month. So my conversions weren't higher at all, they have been a big fat 0%. I pushed others to GoDaddy and a one year plan instead of month to month and had those stick.
lucky that i did not promote hostgator but go with dreamhost. Got 10 signup with hostgator but all using free month coupons. $0 earn
I would suggest you to sign up for Hostgator via CJ.com and I would also suggest you to use e.g. Bluehost instead of Hostgator, as they don't have the first month free coupons, so your sales are real customers who stay with Bluehost.
HG is pretty good. But be concerned in promoting them. if you wish to bag $$$$ by doing lil illegal things, they will ban.
