Bold usernames were a little trickier than you would think... But it's mostly working now, with the exception being you don't see yourself as bold on the "who's online" thing at the bottom of the main page, but other people see it as bold. Not really a way around this one because of how vBulletin treats you as a "special" user in that query.

Personally, I prefer different username color for premium member rather than make it bold. It's just too cluttered, IMO.

I dunno... a different color makes it more cluttered imo. Might make the forum start to look like a kindergartner's crayons all over his wall. :)

    Hi Mate ,
Nice move . best wishes for you

i enjoy when i see a friend is growing in business \
i will definitely buy it as it worth it

i just don't like the Bold username part , its kinda disgusting .but bold usertitle is beautiful
i m also interesting to se what we gonna have inside private section ;)

    suggestion :
it would be great if premium members could start thread without passing Capcha levels

The bold thing is looking very shabby a small badge would work just fine. The badge could even be linked to the payments page.
Also can premium users be given the option to hide their current activity and online status?

bit expensive but I think it worth it , just upgraded

But if it would be a special icon instead of title bolding ,it would be much better

You could have shown your support by making a donation. Now the previous donators look like idiots for donating to an "all about profit" organization.

The pink/flesh color looks horrendous. Is it the best we got? :p It's not even a good-looking kind of pink, when I look at it, the first word that comes to mind is "grandma". They're fine on our ads, but on the threads there's absolutely nothing aesthetically pleasing about them, especially mixed with all the navy green (& they look ridiculous on the blue theme but who cares about that lol). However, they sure do call for attention, & I guess that's what you were going for.

But in the event that you be putting anybody's *unsolicited* 2 cents into consideration, I think it's better to use a different shade of green. Either go really light, or really dark, & if nothing works, at least go orange (since orange never looks out of place with green). & They'll be just as attention-whoring as the pink.

Not that I'd die a slow death if that didn't happen, but just sayin.. :p
P.S. Not meaning to offend. :) Just lending my queer eye to the straight guy. :p
Don't take me too seriously though.. I do love my crayolas.. LOL

Cutting down privileges of normal members to give an advantage to premium members is a bad idea. They had their share of contribution to the growth of the forum. Many people sell sigs and will now have to suddenly refund previous buyers. Limiting the number of colors could have been a less bad idea to reduce "spammy" sigs.

Another approach could be to use random colors like the ad on top of the page. This way no one complains...:p

    Good then.

    Anything unique and special ?

Both. Give them something there and have their own market place for quality products :)

    Read first post.

Yeah, there are many ways to reduce spam. To be completely honest, I was all for just making all links within signatures nofollow or simply hide them from search engines, but was talked out of it by mods. So then what are we left with? We could ban the sale of links within signatures, but yeah... that would be too hard to police. Doing it this way reduces the spam but at the same time gives people the option (if they absolutely have to have it for whatever reason) to still have 4 links.

As far as sympathy for people selling signature links... sorry, not going to get any from me. As I've said in other threads, it's a terribly bad business practice to sell content or ads on sites you don't manage, agreed? :)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the current color either. So someone come up with a better color please. :)

The forum attracts spammers because it's popular, not because you offer 4 signature links. You keep saying this is an attempt to reduce spammers, but how exactly?

Of course you wouldn't sympathize with sig link sellers, now you get a piece of the sig link pie with the new change ;)

Perhaps you could add letter-spacing: -1px; to the CSS for premium usernames. Knocked up a little preview with the aid of firebug, looked fairly decent:

    ..just a thought

Less links within signatures reduces the amount of spam within signatures. You honestly don't see the connection between the number of links and the amount of spam? It's certainly not the only thing we do to reduce spam, just one of many.

Truthfully, I would have been happier to just do away with signatures altogether or at least make them nofollow/hide from search engines. But yeah... you are correct, I don't sympathize with link sellers on any level... certainly not ones who sell links on sites they don't manage.

An even better solution would be to just disallow selling of signature links completely, but that's very impractical to police/manage.

And then what about for people who's browser already looks like that? This is how it looks for me (first one is normal), 2nd one is Firebug edited for -1px letter-spacing.

I would say your "normal" looks less bad than my "fixed".

    How to buy what?

Fair enough. Guess it's impossible to satisfy every browser on every OS. *shrug* I know that Safari tends to bloat a lot of Website elements without being told to.

As for the highlighted topics for premium members in BST, how about #cdf2c9 ?
