    For some topics google pay highest rates. My blog related "Make money online" and my highest earing for one click is $ 1.21. But based on google keyword tool, it is not the maximum value for above topic.

    that is probably a key niche. where advertisers will pay a lot to have ads on a site like that. so yea, some content and subject matter pays more than others.

    I heard somewhere that the clicks that bring in most cash are those that are entirely irrelevant to your site (cakes' advert in car website etc.). Can anyone verify that?

    Depends if you are in a rubbish topic or not.

    If you are in insurance then relevant ads will pay highest, but if you are in celebrity news then you want irrelevant ads like insurance (because insurance pays higher than celeb news).
