    any one character domain with a 2 letter as an extension would be the shortest.

    example

    a.cm

    Do you really think we can remember it if it's the shortest?The length is just one point.For a domain name,there're still other factors that affact its popularity.

    Good luck on getting a short .com for under $50 000! Much easier to get a short domain on an obscure ccTLD

    The name must not be the shortest to be rememberd. That`s not a decivisive fact. Check deviantart, twitter, feedburner, etc. It`s all about branding and services...imo

    I think that even a 1 character extension of any kind, even ccTLDs, is impossible to find. You'll probably never get anything but an error message if you search for one.
