my site doesn't have a page rank?

I had my website for about a month or two.. its indexed, I've used adsense, I have alexa rankings but I don't have good page rank? Why is that? Will it take time before I have a rank or did I do something wrong.. I heard I can get penalized from google, how do I find out if I did?

You don't have a pagerank because Google hasn't updated the pagerank display on their toolbar since about June. If you are still indexed in the search engine and still receiving traffic from Google, you aren't being penalized, so I wouldn't worry about that. As long as you continue to build quality backlinks, I'm sure you'll get a PageRank once they next update the toolbar (Which really could be any day now).

Google hasn't published pagerank updates for quite a few months now, it seems everyone is just about ready for the new updates.

How do you figure that? Where can I find more information about this? Thanks for the reply.

Google USUALLY updates every 3 months or so and publishes the information in the google toolbar. Of course ... most people agree that ACTUAL Pagerank is updated daily. Like the guy above me said, June was the last time they published updates (and, I think it was January before that) ... it's been quite a while. With google in the process of rolling out caffeine, I have a feeling a new update is near. I've been personally noticing quite a few changes in the SERPS the past week. I've had a couple pages gain in the serps and a couple drop.

It is normal if you have not got enough quality backlinks since the last Google PR update of your sites. So, just keeping on building more backlinks from decent sites, you would get a good PR. IMO. :)

Make sure that you enough backlinks to get PR!

As far as I am concerned only Traffic bothers me more than PR

My site is extracashtruth dot com.. I have at least 10 links going to my site from other well known sites.. but nothing shows up anywhere..

So from what I hear from this thread, I just got to wait a little bit till the update hits, should I keep working on advertising and getting my rank higher or this wouldn't matter?
