Is Article Marketing Worthy?

I've noticed that article marketing is starting to lead the way when promoting products and/or websites.

I'm thinking of creating an article website to promote my other websites. My idea is to create a database of really good and interesting articles for other website owners to plagiarise but with links in the text.

This way I'm giving users good, solid, rich content but also getting a backlink from various sources.

Is this a good prospect to move into?

It's an idea but......

Do you know how many other article sites are out there? Gazillions!

How are you going to make yours stand out from the crowd, and cause users to go to yours rather than, say, ezinearticles.com ?

BTW - if they do find and use your articles, leaving the links in, that's not plagiarism - it's fair use.

Don't let me put you off, but you will need to overcome the competition somehow.

 

Nobody can overtake the competition and especially when it come to Ezinearticles.com.

They have 100 editors if not more, therefore a successful business will always need solid investments. The great thing is that you own some ideas all you need is to put them in practice.

 

I'm not too fussed on competition on any subject.

Rich, unique, updated content will always stand out at some point or another if you are talking about endless topics.

At some point, I may have an article that Ezinearticles do not have which will rank in Google.

Either way it's sounding like a good idea, thanks for your input guys.

I would suggest to make a great niche article directory rather than match the more established sites head on. It would be really very very very difficult for you to get an article that is good quality and yet it is either not submitted to ezinearticles.com or your site article ranks better than the one on ezinearticles. They are established, trusted, have a high PR so the way to go appears to build a niche site like marketing/finance/medical article directory

 

I am sorry to say you have been reading too much plop on the web. The way to go about this correctly is to post said articles on your own site and get folks to reference the material. You could write the greatest article ever written but posting it ad nauseum will do absolutely nothing.

There is no question about it and whether article marketing is good or not does not worth argument...

 

December 08 is when I got into article marketing.. I posted about 10 articles.. got a decent CTR then quit. I thought it was a waste of time. I thought 10 articles was enough. Well in Aug. I start article marketing this year, only using a better strategy on writing them and having them posted to my account. I now have over 70 different unique articles at the top article directories and my traffic is has exploded. So yes, article marketing is great when used right.. it's all about being consistent. You can't post 5 articles and call it a day!

If you want to generate free traffic, then article marketing is the weay to go. You can get immediate traffic without any cost. The hardest part of it is to constantly come up with new content to write about. As an option, you can always hire a writer to do that work for you.

 

Sounds really interesting guys. I'm going to go for it. I'll start up on a subdomain and hopefully pass the traffic to and from my existing websites.

I'll give it a 3 month trial writing 2-5 articles a day and see what happens.

The question I think is if the OP should create an article directory not so much if general article marketing is effective.

If you are wanting to create your own article directory, you need to offer an incentive to give people a reason a reason to post articles on your site.

Usually this will be in the form of a backlink, but the reason why article directories like ezine articles, goarticles, etc are popular is because they have very high page ranks making bum marketing easy.

 

I've gotten A LOT of links in about 2 days article marketing. The beauty of article marketing is as webmasters approve your articles, you link count will just keep increasing! Just keep the articles flowing.

2 days? How many backlinks are we talking here? You did well to be indexed that quickly.
