nice game and actually joels e book isnt so good for the content it has its worth 10 or MAX 20bucks or so it just gives tips than you can already get them on these forums. maybe hes not making so much money with adsense but hes making money with his ebooks lol
Well said Jack Why do I detect the little green god lurking?? I don't buy into him either but he has made more money than you matey and he is clean as far as G is concerned and thats the bottom line. I am sure he makes more from his huge opt in list selling other products than he does from adsense anyway.
I played. 111 visitors Day One- 4 clicks for $6.84 That's rich! I purposely emulated my niche and ad placement identically to my actual site. Seems Joel's machine doesn't figure in Smart Pricing. Those 4 clicks would equal anywhere from $.26-$1.85 in the real world. = )
It is all about the 'hook' the 'gimmick' the 'stickability' of the site - a marketing ploy to sell his adsense e-book. There is nothing wrong with it in those terms and really is a testimony to his years of 'playing the game' in online marketing. The experience from those years has taught him the 'tricks' and this is one of the better innovative ideas at plugging an ebook than those long, boring and fake testimony one-page sales letters that everyone has came across at some stage when they were looking for useful information on their specialist topic.
If you buy his ebook you wont make more mney with adsense if you have little to no traffic to begin with. He discusses ad placements and other strategies but you NEED traffic though. And some traffic convert very bad so you may not see a sizable affect. I bought the books a couple months ago, skimmed it, and got a refund. Now I DO make money with adsense but it wasn;t using any of the so called 'secrets' in the ebook. What it comes down to is SEO and patience. You need to get some google/yahoo traffic and then worry about the adsense. To get traffic requires content, patience, and link building. There are no 'secrets' to it. No magical wand.
Site is pretty good and nicely made except for the irritating BG music.. He could have an option to mute it..
This is such a POS, most boring game ever, and with music that can't be muted, pisses me off more than anything
But i think that JC is a smart guy who has made big bucks using Adsense and done a great job sharing his secrets with newbies.
I was entertained for about 10 minutes. If only creating a website empire was as simple as a few clicks and no decision making. Really does present the idea of an Adsense simulator to test marketing strategies, adsense tips (against heat maps, yahoo inventory data, etc). If only I could really make 300 dollars in a day with one site that was created in about 3 and a half minutes.
Well said Jack. I like the game, it's not so much about the money making or the fun it's about how clever this guy is, we're all going to the page, we're all playing it. Good marketing.
I've got to admit, I wish I'd thought of it first. Just like that stupid "silent ringtone", now why didn't I think of selling silence to people?
or canning fresh air and selling it .... used to do that with the 'Cape Doctor' (well-known wind) around here in these parts
The game is more informative that that stupid book he flogs. Save yourself $80 and play the game a few times.
Hey gang... good to see that word is getting around about my game. It's just a game... a simulation. It's designed to provide people with the basics of AdSense and how it can be used to monetize a web site. Google's algorithm's are very complex and I wouldn't even pretend to know how to calculate clicks accurately. I have played games like Lemonade tycoon and Sim City over the years and thought it would be interesting to develop a web-based toy to simulate AdSense. For those who don't like the music, please observe the volume control at the bottom left corner of the game. Turn it down or turn it off... your choice. Joel
