Was checking out some of the data. Is google sharing about 10% with the publishers or even less. I have been using link ad units. Got them 224 freaking link ad clicks and revenue only 27 cents in total.. How the hell!!! No transparency at all.. Now a lot of people at Digitalpoint will try to tell me blah blah blah..... Here is what you do -- 1. Go here https://www.google.com/adsense/report/aggregate 2. If your using link ad units check the report and see how your link units have been performing. 3. Check the Link Clicks. 4. Now something is wrong here. This makes me thing that google is taking a HUGE CUT out of publisher earnings.
"Got them 224 freaking link ad clicks and revenue only 27 cents in total.." If that's the case mate, then you're being exposed for click bombing. Contact google and ask them to ban whoever is doing it to you before they ban you.
Hmm... Maybe you dint read clearly but link ad units have a different pay system. Just check your own link ad unit clicks ( not clicks ), you will know what am actually talking about.
I think adsense is very fair , you would be surprised what other sites do and how they rip you off all day long.
Probably most of the clicks are not valid. This happens a lot of times so do not worry. If AdSense would have been paying less than 10% share, they would not have been as successful as they are.
Google reserves the right not to disclose the percentage of share given to the publishers that it gets from the adwords campaign. So we can't complain.
It's probably got to do more with your sites prime keywords and link position. I know from experience that free flash games will get a lot of clicks but poor revenue where as insurance quotes will earn a lot but so few clicks are achieved. maybe some advice if your using the linear 5 link ad try to make this stand out in the central header theme example: hidemein.com in doing this you should be able to extend the click through rate though it may not extend the ppc rates you've received lately.
