Unfortunately, DP is a forum. Forums just do not earn as well as a similarly popular sites.

Doesn't seem possible though. Another report in March states that the owner of pimpmyspace.org which ranks top 5 in yahoo for 'myspace' as well as lots of other good serps 'only' makes $500 a day. The site mentioned here has worse serps. Anyone can state an arbitrary number. Like the pentyoffish where the owner claimed to make $10,000 a day but didn't make close to that.

Also, this is another story intended to make the average reader feel inferior and envious of someone elses seemingly effortless success IMHO.

Many of such adsense sites have blogs on autopilot. So posting to the blogs, linking and pinging is done automatically using RSS feeds of relevant sites. This is one of the latest trends to maximize adsense revenue in short time.

I was kind of wondering that too. I seem to recall in another recent article (in Washington Post) they were making around $100 a day, which works around $3000 a month.

It would sure be nice to rank in the top ten for "myspace layouts" though. It is like a lisence to print money.

Not really. I ranked 10th for that term before I sold the site.

But my layout could have been better for a better CTR and I didnt have banners or popups. :)

On average he is making a round $25 year per site if he has 400,000 sites.

Using a low number for a discount on the domains, lets say he pays $5 per domain a year.

Thats 2 mil a year alone on costs.

Unless its all free domains which I doubt, but possible.

Not to mention he has purchased most of those sites, costing him a lot of money. It seems to me to be not too profitable a strategy. Yet, when people come across that article and see the $10 million figure, they will be excited for sure.

before you guys bash the site, did you take the time to look at the content? they have some pretty damn good layouts, as well as a shitload. most myspace layout sites only offer like...5-10 and half of them don't work.
