Hi, I am currently running three banner ads on my homepage at www.hatepost.com . The click-through rate is horribly low at almost .30% . I believe this has something to do with relevancy, but if anyone can offer some insight as to increase CTR I would greatly appreciate it. Placement suggestions are also very welcome!
Placement isnt bad. Is your sidebar set to img ads only? Might wanna make that text as well. Id be careful with that text link bar at the bottom as that seems to be breaking rules.
Hi, sorry yeah I was just testing placement. I changed it back to a banner on the bottom. I had the side as text, but that didn't seem to get ANY clicks. I was wondering if I could somehow get more relevant ads? And the CTR is horrid. (guessing because of relevancy)
How can I make sure google knows what each page is about? Considering my website is about one topic, I would prefer if the ads didn't take notice of the stories and kept the same ads up. But there isn't much else for google to take note of for ads... any ideas?
Id update your meta description. But the ads will pull from the content on the page, so if you have 6 ppl on the front page posting that they hate printers its pretty likely that you'll get some ads regarding printers.
Ad placement is ok. The click-through rate is horribly low due to low traffic to your website and depends upon his/her mood to click your ads.
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. How much traffic do you need to get a decent click-through rate? I'm currently getting around 2-3k uniques a day.
It all depends on the traffic. Some traffic is more "clicky" than others ie people who are shopping around for deals on something.
