Shared hosting with .jar execution

    I am interested to rent a shared hosting account at a provider that can allow me to run a .jar file. This file will be the server for a mobile phone based game. The players will connect from mobile devices to the server and the server will match them accordingly for suitable gaming.

    I have tried to contact major providers such as hostgator but they do not offer this type of feature on shared hosting, only on the very expensive dedicated accounts.

    Budget is maximum $50 / month.

    This is pretty much what will be needed to do this. This would be a java program that is running all the time. Shared hosting providers frown upon process running forever on their servers. Now on a VPS it's your own mini server with your own operating system so you can run whatever applications you want including a java application.
