ok so just yesterday i noticed one of my sites is not loading for me but 5 of my friends are able to go to to the site, i have tested this myself on another ISP on my other friends computer and sure enough the site loads,
on my system the site is not loading, i tried other sites on teh same server and sure enough they are also not loading, what can be the cause, something is blocking me from visiting my own site, now i cannot get emails from that site also, im baffled !!!

i think the DNS does not resolve on your end, its not a server faulty
try to manually edit the 'host' file on C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc to suit your site ip

here is whats in my host file now, what do i need to do?

    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

this does not seem to be a dns problem, you can confirm that by doing nslookup from cmd line nslookup mysite.com

As other sites on the same server are also not loading so it is a traffic routing issue
the issue can lie at both your ISP or your host (firewall blocking certain sources of traffic)

do a tracert of the server ip and see where the traffic is being dropped, take up the problem with both the host and isp

Sounds like you IP may have been banned from the server side. Are there other sites on that same server that you are able to access? Do you have a dedicated server, vps or shared hosting account? I would contact the host if you are shared, and see if your IP has been banned.

Find your IP, and send an email to your host asking them to check the firewall for your IP.

i dont think my host has anything to do with this, this has to be something else, im sure something like this has happened to someone else, its just so strange that this would happen out of the blue

manually add your site ip and domain on the last line (below # End of entries inserted by Spybot - Search & Destroy)

    for example:
    203.255.169.1 mywebsite.com

save it and try browse your site now
    hope this helps :)

The host for your website runs the server, which will have a firewall as well. What I am saying, is that they could have your IP address listed as being malicious, and are not allowing it access to the server.

I've had this happen to clients of mine as well, where their IP gets blocked, once they send me an email with the problem, I remove the block.
