Thanks for the compliment, but I can't take credit for it. A very wise judge said those words, in a case where the US government locked up a man for 5 years without charges or a trial, and then deported him without an apology. The facsism is staring us in the face, yet some continue to deny reality.
Some how I doubt it. You've asked questions about creationism in a thread that has nothing to do with that subject. Why not try asking something relevant to the discussion.
I don't see the post you're talking about. Post #80 was the question, your only posts between there and here are 83, 84, 87, and 89... which one was the answer? -Michael
Sorry mvandemar, I didn't see it, okay, my bad. Mia is right, what do your questions have to do with why we're at war? Lying about my age? haha, why and where? I turned 16 yesterday. So to answer your completely off-topic questions (I get to blame it on you if this turns into a religious thread, that was not intended when I started this), but only for the sake of knowing I can answer your posts: They don't teach creationism OR evolution at our school. I believe in creationism, as in a surpreme being (God) created us in the image of himself... the whole Adam & Eve thing. And I believe every word of it.
Gtech, you obviously haven't read the progressive's history of the middle east conflict. Please read and alter your perception.
CompuXP, he is attempting to make a poke at you by insinuating you are lying that you are 16. He is trying to say that you are only saying you are 16 to make up for what he thinks are stupid posts from someone who he thinks is older. In reality what is happening is someone much older than you is getting the crap kicked out of them intellectually by a kid. He has become so desperate in his attempts to communicate with you, that he has now resorted to changing the subject in order to "bait" you. It's people like this that make me appreciate the ignore option in VB.
Man, ain't that about the truth! Coming to a history book in an elementary school near you, soon I concur! While experiencing a sudden feeling of deja vu, I can't help but notice Comp's well managed ownage of the conversation
Mia is anything but right. While my question doesn't have to do with the title of this post, neither do the majority of the other posts here, and it is quite on topic with where you were going when you said that your trust in the government was faith based rather than fact based. Just so you know, this question isn't really about your beliefs in God, or at least that's not what I intend. It's about what you believe in about seperation of church and state, and about faith based beliefs vs. science. When you say your school doesn't teach either, you are saying that they teach neither history nor biology, or at least not the history of biology. I somehow doubt that's the case, although depending on your school system you may well have not been introduced to Darwin yet. It's not about whether or not you believe in God, it's about whether or not you take that belief to the level of claiming that genetics is bullshit cause the bible doesn't mention it. Also, when you state that you believe in the president just because he's the president, does that mean that if he happens to be deviating from the beliefs of our forefathers, the former presidents, that he's right because he's the one in office now, and they were wrong cause they're dead and can't argue with him...? -Michael
Wait, is she right or is she wrong? You say she's wrong but then you agree with her. Your question did not relate to the topic I intended when starting this thread. No I'm not. I have taken a few history classes AND a biology class. We can only cover so much in one year, you know. Take it up with the teachers, not me. It's not for me to decide what we are taught at school. The Bible doesn't really mention it because genetics wasn't discovered then. Actually, the Book of Mormon doesn't really either, but genetics does not affect our eternal salvation. (It hasn't thousands of years ago when people didn't know about it, so why should it now just because we know about it?) I respect the office of "President". Let's take Clinton for example: "Lie, lie, wait, I'm sorry.... lie... lie... lie... partial truth... yes, I lied... affair... lie .. lie... truth.... lie... lie... I lied, okay? ... re-election (how can you re-elect a president like this; don't answer, it's rhetorical.) ... lie ... lie. .. I lied ... impeachment attempt ... lie ... lie ... I lied... term expires." If the government removes any of our basic freedoms or forefather's beliefs, we have a right to fight against it and break off from the country anyway. And really, times have changed. While basic principles have not, times and situations have. 50 years ago, a terrorist attack meant poisoning somebody's soup, or pirating a boat on the seas. Now, it's a much different definition of terrorist attack. It's all about mass murder, things like this effect a president's choices heavily. So, it may SEEM like all the other presidents are wrong and he's right, but it's just adjustment for the times. There are times where I disagree with a president but I nearly always have faith in his decisions because he knows things we don't, and who are we to decide his choices?
She's a he, just so you know. And those tactics of partial quoting in order to make you look smart only work with other stupid people. DOn't worry though, I'm sure there are a few here who will back you up. Nope, not at 16 it isn't. But as you become a voting adult, yeah, it is partially your responsibility to do just that. Just to be clear, are you saying you do believe in genetics and evolution then, and the bible would have talked about them if they had been known about back then? (this is the main question for me in this particular post) Would you have considered yourself unpatriotic and demoralizing to the country had you yourself said that back when he was in office? Ok, here's the problem. That is part of what the government is doing. Your only response to that seems to be "But they're the government and I'm a patriot if they do something wrong we must rebel but I'm a patriot so they can't be doing anything wrong." Who said it seemed like the old presidents were wrong? I think you meant to say that the otehr way. Either way, no, basic freedoms and rights should not be stomped on just because someone freaks out and doesn't know how to handle things properly. It's an excuse. "We" would be the same ones referred to in the whole "We the people" thing we have going on which kinda sorta makes up the basis of what "We" consider to be the principles of what make up a democracy. -Michael
Eh, my bad. The other part of your quote doesn't really have anything to do with what YOU wrote, just other people. So really, only stupid people can't comprehend what they wrote themselves. LOL yeah when there's a poll "Should teachers teach history in a biology class?" Nope! I believe in genetics, but not evolution. Genetics != Evolution Nope, because the only thing unpatriotic there would have been him lying to the entire country so many times, setting a horrible example to the WORLD about our leaders, and yet STILL he gets re-elected showing how morally unstable the country really is. No it's not... we can still say what we want, think what we want, believe what we want, vote, buy guns, etc... we aren't losing our freedoms, you need to realize this. Right, and that's great. But what the President knows doesn't decide a democracy, so I don't see why you bring up this point. A democracy is where the people are involved with how the government is run. NOT where the people know every bit of information the President knows. Heck, if that happened, there wouldn't be a government, hardly. It'd be chaotic! Example: The DHS knows where its flaws are, and as they try to fix them up, if people knew about them, they'd exploit them faster than they could fix them. We'd be a mess! There are some things we DO NOT need to know.
Ok, in your first few points you're being an idiot on purpose, no use pretending otherwise. I'm not going to fight with you over shit you just plain make up. However, this part: For some reason, I think in your head you have tried to make yourself believe this and possibly for the most part succeeded. It's a basic misunderstanding of the principles in question, and show an obvious lack of grasp on the concepts. Go ask a biology teacher in your school what genetics have to do with evolution. You have a lot to learn before you start debating issues intelligently, and unfortunately with you latching on (by that I mean partial imitating) to certain peoples methods of structuring their arguments, you have gotten handicapped from the start. Either way, I'm done with this thread. Bash me and my statements all you want with no fear of me replying, I'll unsubscribe. If you have something you really want me to read or reply to, pm me and I'll read it. -Michael
