How I create sitemap? I am new in this field please help me

    You say you're new to this field so maybe you mean "new" to domaining/developing in general. If in fact that's the case, don't bother with sitemaps at this point. They're for more experienced users with larger sites of maybe 15,000 pages and above. Just my opinion.

    Basically sitemaps are directories of each page on your site. When a spider crawls your site, it reads your sitemap and is better able to find and consider each page for inclusion into a search engine. This is usually faster than a spider crawling your site naturally without a sitemap.

    This is the one I use and is probably one of the easier ones around - just put in your URL, then pretty much, off you go!

    The XML file you can download needs to be added to the root of your site then uploaded via FTP to your server.

    You then need to use Google Webmaster Tools, Yahoo Site Explorer (add a feed) and Bing Webmaster (when it works) to tell them where to look for your sitemap - the URL it is found at on your site - sorry, I can't add a link yet as I haven't enough posts!

    hey thanks a lot, I'm looking for a solution on how to make sitemaps on a non wordpress environment. i have many sites built on wordpress but right now I am trying to make an online store using simple PHP. and i have run into difficulties on creating the sitemaps.

    ya this links is best for creating xml sitemaps xml-sitemaps.com , xml sitemaps are the best because google crawl them very fast.

    Hi, Dear Sitemap is really important for your website . When visitor come on your site and he see link of sitemap then he easily search your page . And also when google boat is come on site then it easily know how many pages of your site and cover maximum pages index of your site. There are 3 types of sitemap - 1)Text Based Sitemap 2) HTML Sitemap 3) XML Sitemap

    If you have dynamic site then please use XML site map coz google consider it .And if you have static site then use HTML sitemap

    If you want to create sitemap for site then in google serach box type "Sitemap generator" and you get lots of toots which generate your site's sitemap ok dear

    Sitemaps are useful for smaller sites also, though you are right that they are more useful for bigger sites.
