    Hi DP Members,

I am currently looking into purchasing PR3+ domains in various niches.

I am looking at purchasing domains in order to sell Quality Links. Things like Homepage Links in content, Blogroll links, Blogposts etc...

However when someone sends me a PM offering there domain, what are some good methods in order to determine the approximate value of the domain?

I know that having a suitable domain name relating to the niche involved is important. E.g travel - airsealand dot com or whatever. But how many backlinks would make a good website, or Alexa rating?? Domain Age etc...

Thankyou for your responses in advance.

    Much Appreciated.

My advice to you is to set a predetermined budget for each domain and make that public.. It will ensure you get the best offers..

    For example..
    20$-30$ for a pr 3 domain.
    30$-40$ for a pr 4 domain.

Thats a fair value of the bat. Of course developed sites with income have another measurement. Between 18 - 90 months of income depending on history and domain name. Remember to have the seller document the income with screen shots.

    Good luck!

    EDIT
In regards to buying domains based on Alexa ranking.. Have a look at this article I wrote on my blog..

That is pretty low... but achievable depending on quality...

You can use tools such as www.iwantpagerank.com or www.checkpagerank.net to determine the history of the domain in question as well as whether the PR is fake or otherwise.

Yes sometimes 9 out of 10 domains lose pagerank.

So you may pay $50 a domain, but when you lose PR on 9 domains, real cost is $450... per domain.
