I'm using AdWords to advertise my website and grab new clients, and also Analytics to keep track of visitors, Today I've noticed that AdWords's hit rate is about 40% higher than what is logged in Analytics, What's the problem and how can I fix this issue? it's a lot of money waste for me.
There is no problem..the difference is that Adwords is tracking 'clicks' and Analytics is tracking 'visits'. There are several reasons why these numbers are going to be different, but this is the primary reason- visitors may click your ad multiple times..adwords would record this as several clicks, while GA would report this as seperate pageviews from one unique visit...this your going get more clicks recorded in Adwords vs. the # of visits in Analytics. Both are accurate, just different methodologies.
they are never going to match because of WHAT and HOW they are tracking. if you check the Conversion University tutorials on Google Analytics, Google will explain this all in detail.
